Disney has an entire attraction, Captain EO starring someone how probably(definitely) someone who did some terrible things with children. But having people with tattoos is sending a bad message?

The only reason I don't think it would work is people who get tattoos and are serious about it generally have a specific artist they trust and work with. But they could make a killing on doing tinkerbell tramp stamps all day.

You've mentioned that one before. Not really relevant here....

And they have plenty of temporary tattoo shops for anyone who wants Tink on their body. You want something more permanent, numerous shops abound not at Disney to fulfill your needs......

Great idea!

And on either side of the new tat shop they could put a Waffle House and an ABC Liquor store....maybe a Payday Loan location right under the castle.

Don't forget the nudie bar and flea market.

Interestingly enough the tattoo place i used is situated between a fine art gallery and several hi end fashion boutique shops... guess that blows that perception out of the water

does it fit? probably not. and it obviously wouldn't be worth the backlash that you're seeing here at the mere proposal of the idea for discussion.

that said, there are some fairly close-minded ideas here on tattoos. i don't really care, because i'm really not in the business of justifying my life choices to others. but i think some people on the boards would be fairly surprised to meet some artists or hear the stories behind people's tattoos.

I can see it now. Suzy goes in, and picks a basic Mickey head shape (think the Mickey paint samples). The artist does the outline, and then Suzy feels some needle work outside what she would have thought was the design. But hey, its WDW, they wouldn't screw up my tattoo, right? Then when she gets up from the chair and looks in the mirror, the Mickey head looks great. But then she sees the copyright symbol. And the 5 lines of lawyerese that Disney insists on having as part of every tattoo where you are releasing them from any liability and regret that you may get down the road.

And no, they will not do that naughty Jessica Rabbit pin up you saw on that other shops flash....

And can only pick from the 200 approved pieces of artwork, anything else is forbidden.

My tattoo shop is across the street from an ice cream parlor. Those evil tattoo artists are trying to corrupt those kids while they're young.

First let me start by saying I definitely do not think there should be a tattoo shop in DTD, however, tattoo shops shouldn't be compared to the likes of waffle houses, liquor stores, and strip clubs.

What? No love for the Awful Waffle? :(

As for a "Disney" tattoo shop, never going to happen. DTD is all about the third parties now, and Disney is real touchy about third parties using their intellectual property to make money.

Long before his other legal troubles, George "The Disney Tattoo Guy" had a long talk with Disney officials about his ink and how it infringed on Disney copyright law. They reached an agreement where basically one artist did all the work, for free. Technically George never paid for one of those Disney tattoos on his body. Of course, even then he has become a PR nightmare (and that's from someone who actually likes the guy!). I don't see Disney even thinking about going down that road again.

I won't even bring up quality control...

All that said, I don't quite see how an upscale tattoo place along the lines of H&H is any less "Disney"-like than a Harley store, a mom jeans store, a tequila bar, a cigar shop...

Perhaps somewhere in an adult-only area in Downtown Disney, otherwize I'm not liking this idea. But, perhaps a fake kids tattoo store? hahaha JK

Not trying to start an argument, but in the interest of the truth, let's remember that Michael Jackson was never convicted of any crime against children. To say that he "definitely" or even "probably" did something terrible to children simply isn't true. Unless you have some knowledge of the situation, what you're saying is libelous.

Heck No; a tattoo should not be an impulse purchase. Being at Disney, and 'IN' the moment, may be a regretful decision.
