Should WDW get a tatoo shop put in???

I really think they were being ironic. They didn't really mean that Disney should build a liquor store or loan depot. I think they were being sarcastic. They were stating something, but they did not mean it. One of the most common forms of irony - sarcasm.

Either way, I didn't mean to offend you! I've inserted a smiley into my original comment in the hopes of lightening up my post.

Not offended in the least. I thought you were offended by my remark.:)

Tattoo parlors are like strip clubs. Some are dives. Some are classy. I just don't think either one has any place on Disney property.

Morocco in Epcot used to do Henna last I recall.

While I agree that a tattoo shop does not belong in Disney, I am somewhat offended (as a tattoo artist, as well as someone with alot of body art), that people insist on grouping people with tattoos that they require booze, check cashing stores in the vicinty, etc. 80% of people with tattoos, the general public would never even know that the people that have them. So I pose the question, just because a person has one, does that change the way they are thought of?. If that answer is yes, then I guess society is becoming even more shallow than I thought.

Unfortunatly having tattoo's does come with somewhat of a stigma attached. It doesn't seem to be any particular age/social group some people dont like/approve of them (whatever you have tatooed). My DW and i get both sides the spectrum and dont let the negative bother us in any way.there are more things to worry about than whether someone has ink or not.
As for a tattoo parlour at WDW i am against the idea. I spent years wanting a tattoo but never got one until i found an artist that i was happy with (personality and body of work).I dont think i would go to another person unless they were exceptional.
Before anyone says "Yes but the Disney artists might be exceptional" it is quite a personal thing and the best tatto's i have seen take time to create between artist and person getting the ink.As most people are there on vacation for a short period of time i think the sort of thing that would be asked for are spur of the moment ones (which in my opinion are usually the worst ones).
This is all purely my opinion and everyone is entitled to disagree but alli would say is;
If you are wantinga tattoo think carefully about what you want andmake sure you shop around untill you find an artist that you are happy with and has a good body of work.. good things come to those who wait !!

That brings a scary reality into the "Disney Bubble," you wouldn't want your young ones to think "Oh tattoos are okay, they have them at Disney World!" would you?

Obviously there are issues with "real" tattoos, but I wouldn't see the harm of a kiosk/shop doing henna tattoos in DTD.

I bet there are plenty of artists that can pull it off. A friend of mine has "Hakuna Matata" tattooed on his leg in the classic Disney font, and it looks spot-on.

he was referring to the artists themselves looking the part of a Disney cast member. There are very strict guidelines to what you have to look like and covered in tattoos (like a lot of tattoo artists are) is definitely not one of them!

As to the OP, I agree with everyone, a big fat no! if you want to get a tattoo at a theme park, go to Universal City Walk.

Wow. Tattoos are okay. I would bet that there are loads of people you respect that have tattoos you dont know about. While they definitely are not for everyone, having one (or several) does not a bad person make.

Most people without tattoos judge those who do have tattoos. The non inked folks have been raised to view tattoos as "trashy, and evil", so I have a feeling that's why the majority here have said "ew, no, don't bring that trash at WDW!"

My friend Ray is very involved in his spirituality. He told me that he has been called to spread the word and to teach kids that through God, anything can be achieved. He has been a speaker in youth camps across the country and does a lot of volunteer work and mission work camps. Guess what, he has tattoos up and down his arms and legs, and pierced in his lip and nose. Very friendly guy, and will probably go far in his faith.

I was actually thinking of getting a small one, just the words "Papa Glenn" (my grandfather) somewhere where I could cover it, and I'm a CM. Would that make me trashy? BTW, a lot of CM's do have tattoos, they're just covered (Mostly on the shoulder or leg). Looks like they're trashy too.

Disney has an entire attraction, Captain EO starring someone how probably(definitely) someone who did some terrible things with children. But having people with tattoos is sending a bad message?

The only reason I don't think it would work is people who get tattoos and are serious about it generally have a specific artist they trust and work with. But they could make a killing on doing tinkerbell tramp stamps all day.
