My dislike isn't a rejection of the culture or the music, but rather the fact the technology which was amazing in the early 70s (the bears looked so real!) doesn't inspire any awe or wonder in even the young children today. Well, maybe a few, but not most. Time has caught up to the Audio Animatronic stars of the show, and great things are demanded and expected of Disney. :king:
Maybe if some of those corn squeezings were handed out during the preshow . . .
But seriously, the same arguments that are made against Mr. Toad's Wild Ride apply here: The technology is outdated and the characters aren't very marketable. Funny that Winnie the Pooh replaced the Country Bears at Disneyland, just as he replaced Mr. Toad at the Magic Kingdom. As much as I liked Mr. Toad, there is no question that Winnie the Pooh is a more beloved attraction for the age group to which it is marketed. If Disney announced tomorrow that it was replacing the Country Bear Jamboree with Woody's Roundup Jamboree, starring Woody, Jesse, Bullseye and Stinky Pete with audio animatronics of the same quality as Stitch in Stitch's Great Escape, people would go nuts for the replacement. :king:
