SGE closing Petition

castevens

petitions are really quite simple. If you agree with the cause and want to sign, you sign. Otherwise you do not. It's not about "it may not be the greatest attraction but it's okay." It's about getting Disney to recognize that some of their biggest fans think that they can do better with that prime real estate.

They will change it eventually with or without a petition. I just don't think a petition will hurt (nor will it really help), so in the end it's just about venting your feelings whether someone is listening or not

Adam, I usually know your info is good, but I gotta question this one. I've been told by many, many people from Guest Relations to Management that SGE is the most complained about attraction in the MK.

Any time I've talked to someone who works at City Hall, I hear the same thing. I don't know if they're trying to preach to the choir because I usually have an Alien Encounter shirt on when I'm in the MK, but who knows. The guy I took Keys to the Kingdom with didn't have too many good things to say about the attraction's reputation from a Guest Relations POV.

I've got plenty of friends in GR, and they say some days it's 10 complaints about SGE to 1 complaint about any other attraction.

Everyone I've ever talked to says that AE ultimately was replaced because of guest complaints. But it appears that character based attractions with gift shops at the exit have a different set of rules ;)

Has anyone actually SEEN the show in person? I shivered at the idea, and even disliked the first video I saw, but once I saw it in person, it grew on me! Never judge a show by it's videos!

I've seen it in person about fifty times. I will admit that I am game for riding it whenever I am there (but I always skip Monsters Inc.). The ride is very poorly done though. Worse is that the cannons don't work like they should.

I've said itbefore and I'll say it again, I don't mind SGE.

Alright, it's not the best ride in the world, and perhaps it doesn't match AE (I never got to see AE though) but it's certainly not terrible. I can think of plenty of other attractions I would rather see replaced before SGE.

p.s. don't ban me.......

If you truly want Disney to get rid of SGE then convince a couple of hundred thousand people to cancel trips solely because of SGE and it will be gone. Until you can pull that off you can submit all the petitions you want and they will just be laughed at and thrown in the circular file right next to the "Save Toad", "Save Horizons", "Save Alien Encounter" and "Save Timekeeper" petitions.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
If kids come off that ride crying then what if they went on Alien Encounter. I mean so many people want them to bring back Alien Encounter when what you just said is happening. SGE is nothing compared to AE so of course they are most likely not going to bring AE. So we should stop trying to get rid of SGE because there is a good possibility it won't happen.

O and sorry for my critisism but please don't throw it back at me. I mean it is a sort of free place to post things on this site. So yah.
Kids weren't SUPPOSED to go on AE, that's the thing.
They had signs warning parents that AE was NOT for kids, but they ignored them and ruined one of the best attractions at MK. Please DO NOT try to use children's reaction as a justification for AE's closing. It's like using speeding as an excuse for rear-ending the guy infront of you at a stoplight.

First of all, I am not a fan of SGE and agree that AE was much better and original. All being said what would be a good replacement for SGE? IMO it is difficult to develop something that is thrilling or has any re-ride value with the current infrastructure used in the show building. Think about it, Flight to the moon and Mission to Mars were both less than thrilling, offering little in re-ride value.

Something that is makes your heart pound similar to AE is the only plausible thrilling experience for that type of attraction. AE was the best the ride infrastructure had to offer because it created emotion even if it was a fearful one. SGE does none of that and by todays standards is just a boring and uncomfortable show. Again, I want opinions on what is a suitable replacement, given the current ride infrastructure, that would be entertaining and re-ridable.

As far as a petition, I am of the belief that it is there company and they can do as they feel. If I dont enjoy or I disagree with something they chose to do, I will simply pass it up. Similarly to the way I pass up SGE evertime I am at the park.

If you don't like an attraction such as Stitch's Great Escape. Then do not go in it. I just do not get all of the hate towards this attraction. I am not a fan of some attractions. Does that mean I want Disney to remove them, no it does not I just avoid those attractions.

I went on it a 1st time and that was my last time.

So would I, the surveys done by The Unofficial Guide to WDW staff also alot less than enthusiastic.

And yes I have seen it in person, and it sucks.

I MagicMaya wants the ride Stitch's greatest escape to close now!

Anyone else wanna sign?
If we get enough people to complain, they will close it down just like when we complained about Super Stupid Celebration

Now who's with me?!?!?!

If your going to start a post like this, make sure you outline why it should close (citing a valid reason, see below), and what it should reopen with.

You should give a valid reason for your thoughts (ie: your doctor confirmed physical or mental pain after you experienced it),..... ie: a valid reason would not be because "MagicMaya doesn't like it"...

Thirdly, if you have absolutely nothing better to do with your time (which sounds like the case), why not write a well-worded letter to the Disney Executive of your choice noting the above 2 points.

Your OP will only incite arguments, and gives others a bad impression of yourself... Coincidentally it's probably too late..

Without a suggestion for what should replace it, I don't see the point. Even if it's not that popular, whoever is going on it isn't standing in front of you in the line for Splash Mountain.

If they closed it tomorrow without any plan for what to put there, the park wouldn't be any better.
