Personally, I find the whole ticket thing very subjective. When Magic Kingdom first opened the E-Tickets were:

Pirates of the Caribbean
Jungle Cruise
Country Bear Jamboree
Haunted Mansion
Hall of Presidents
It's a Small World
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Space Mountain

I doubt you would find anyone today who would put Pirates in the same category as Hall of Presidents or Small World.

Thanks. Good list. I found it online somewhere after I posted the question and the list matched yours.

There is another thread on here about what is an E ticket ride. Found this list there:

You will notice that some attraction will appear in more than one category. That's because attractions were demoted.

“A” Ticket
Main Street – Omibus
Horse Cars
Main Street Vehicles
Fantasyland – Cinderella’s Golden Carrousel

“B” Ticket
Main Street - Main Street Cinema
Fantasyland – Dumbo The Flying Elephant
Mad Tea Party
Frontierland – Frontierland Shooting Galley
Mike Fink Keel Boats
Adventureland – Swiss Family Treehouse

“C” Ticket
Tomorrowland - Grand Prix Raceway
Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress
Fantasyland - Peter Pan’s Flight
Snow White’s Scary Adventure
Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride
Frontierland - Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes (Closed atdusk)
Adventureland – Swiss Family Treehouse

“D” Ticket
Main Street – Walt Disney World Railroad/Grand Circle Tour
Tomorrowland – Skyway to Fantasyland
Wedway
Starjets
Mission to Mars
Flight To The Moon
Fantasyland – Skyway to Tomorrowland
The Mickey Mouse Revue
Frontierland – Country Bear Jamboree
Walt Disney World Railroad
Tom Sawyer’s Island (Closes at Dusk)
Liberty Square – The Hall Of Presidents
Adm. Joe Fowler Riverboat
Richard F. Irvine Riverboat
Adventureland – The Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management
Enchanted Tiki Birds

“E” Ticket
Tomorrowland – Space Mountain
Fantasyland – It’s A Small World
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Submarine Voyage)
Frontierland – Country Bear Jamboree
Liberty Square – The Haunted Mansion
The Hall of Presidents
Adventureland – Pirates Of The Caribbean
Jungle Cruise

Based on this list I would expect the mine train to be a solid D attraction based on the plans and the construction to date. If your expectations are a C ticket ride in my opinion you will probably be pleasantly surprised. No way that this ride is not better than the original Snow White which was a C. If your expectations are an E ticket ride you might be disappointed. In my opinion this ride will probably not be on par with Splash, Space or BTMRR and probably wont match pirates or haunted mansion. That being said I think the majority of people are in agreement that it won't be an E ticket. Nobody on this thread has said they are expecting that so I would say it will be as good as or better than expectations depending on whether you are expecting a D ticket or a C ticket ride.

Another favorite target for the malcontents is to complain about the Princess Fairytale Hall meet and greet but I love that this is coming. I remember when my son and daughter were young and my nerves would be strained to the breaking trying to find characters in the parks when they were randomly wandering around. Getting a pic of my kids with Snow White and other characters was very stressful because I'd have to walk around the park keeping an eye peeled for them instead of just enjoying myself. The Fairytale Hall is WONDERFUL because it gives you a place where you can line up and get this picture if you want that. If you don't want it, great...but you no longer have to run around like a crazy person trying to stalk these characters. I very gladly line up to get these pictures for my niece and nephew and wish we had this convenience when my own children were young in the 80s and 90s.
I think most people understand now that things like the Princess Fairytale Hall make sense. However it's located in such a prime spot in Fantasyland it's a harder sell. Thematically it makes a decent amount of sense, but I think the root of these complaints is it's location. For those people that dislike meet and greets, they usually recognize them as necessary, they just want them out of site and out of mind.
For those who wanted an E-ticket in Fantasyland, there just was not room for it in this FLE plan. There is room for it, however, if they remove the Speedway and use that land for one Fantasyland E-ticket and one Tomorrowland E-ticket. Having E-tickets over where the Speedway is makes a lot of sense and in terms of crowd flow the Mine Coaster makes the most sense for its location in FLE.
One of the larger plans included at least one e-ticket that I'm aware of. You're right about using the Speedway track, but there's room without touching it too.

My biggest problem with all of the Fantasyland expansion is what I think is a seriously inefficient use of space. I have no problem with meet and greets, I have a problem with space being used so poorly that it creates big hurdles for future expansion.

Can you explain where you think the in-efficiency is?

I like this coaster a lot more than the Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty Meet and Greets that were originally planned, though I do wish Sleeping Beauty had some representation in the park. Maybe the new E-ticket for Fantasyland can be a coaster themed to Maleficent, with a battle against her in dragon form as an exciting climax.
Let me get this straight...there wasn't room in the FLE for an E-ticket? You do realize this is built in the area that used to house 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, right? An E-ticket with a huge footprint. The correct phrasing is, "The FLE was not designed to have an E-Ticket." The FLE was approved to fulfill a very specific purpose (which it will fulfill).

I so agree. Afterall, look at the size of the space they want to use for the meet-n-greets: huge building where a ride one stood. That is not an efficient use of the space at hand. I do agree with others who said that the meet-n-greets fit in well right inside the castle courtyard, but I do still think that Disney is blowing the park out of the water with all these meet-n-greets scattered throughout the New Fantasyland. So... many... meet-n-greets... Park... Area.... WASTED.....

Indications are that they are going to have multipled themed rooms for the princesses so they may very well need a building that is that large. Also, don't forget that the orginal plans for the expansion dedicated even more space then this to M&Gs.

I guess so.... well. I have seen the original concept art and you are right, there was many more M&Gs that didn't make the cut. Pixie hollow was cut from the final plans, which included M&G's with the fairies such as tinkerbell... so, I guess it is better than originally.

.. and the entire area where the mine train is now was going to be Princess meet and greets.

So at the end of the day, we only get one new ride out of FLE -- right?

Dumbo doubles in size, Goofy gets moved. The Mermaid dark ride replaces the Snow White dark ride, and we get one new kiddie coaster... eventually.

I'm glad they're adding on to the park, don't get me wrong, but... I feel like the kid in The Incredibles waiting for Mr. Incredible to actually be incredible.

Meanwhile, at Universal... ;)

The space across from dumbo that was originally going to be pixie hollow is for me the biggest waste of space. That could have been a new attraction but no, they decide to add tents. I understand that it helps signifigantly to to the theming of dumbo but their are many other classic disnyey movies that only really fit in fantasyland and need a home there ( ex. sleeping beauty, cinderella). Thats is what bothers me about storybook circus. Not dumbo the tents.

I think after observing most of the boards on this site and a lot of people giving their opinions on what they would have done in Disney's shoes, I think the best thing to do is just sit back and relax and enjoy the show. You can want and want and want until the cows come home, but if I am starting to learn anything in this lifetime its to enjoy what you have.

Yes, but a ride doesn't directly bring in money, whereas shops, food service, and to a smaller extent meet and greets do. Not saying I like it, but it's the reality of the business.

The main goal of the expansion was to add capacity, generally to the park, and specifically to Fantasyland which really needs it. It is achieving this by adding more space for people to walk around in and more ride capacity. Also, even though a lot of people on these boards are not happy with M&Gs, guests enjoy them and they provide something else for people in the park to do

I guess that I have to agree, afterall, I do enjoy getting to see the characters in the park. It adds a touch of whimsy to the park and helps reinforce that you are NOT in the outside world. Fantasyland always seemed small compared to the other lands. Given that a Fantasyland icon, Cinderella's Castle, is the weinie (focal point, imagineering term), you would expect the focal land to be much larger. Now, they have caught onto this and decided to expand the land and add capacity (as danlb_2000 said). Magic Kingdom really needed this when the park opened in 1971.

small world no, but certainly Hop and for that matter AA are certain E-tickets to this day. The intracacy of the Animitronics, story are still amongst the best of disney.

I think Disney in the next ten years will give us some cool rides. What I love about Disney is the level of detail in the parks. Animal kingdom is just beautiful, the new FLE looks amazing. Universals parks just feel like a nice clean park. The level of detail isn't there. ( with the exception of Harry potter...so maybe universals will start the high level themeing, or maybe Harry potter is a one time shot)

Was talking to a guy I met in an animation/film club. He says he has a friend who works for Disney and talked about some potential projects down the line.
Some of the stuff sounded very cool. I don't know this guy, was just chatting about Disney and got into this conversation. It could be all made up. Maybe some people on this board could confirm. anyway...

At some point the racing track will be torn down in MK to make room for a new ride in tomorrow land. Didn't know what would be going there.
The Racing track will be rethemed to cars at DHS, along with another family friendly ride ( monsters coaster, crush coaster maybe?) it would give Pixar place three rides.

Was talk about a dark ride for animal kingdom but with Avatar this I'm sure is dead.
Dark ride with 3d elements that transports viewers into Disney animated films such as the old mill, Bambi, jungle book, princess and the frog. Through the perspective of the animals, or animals point of view.
Disney characters will be your guide.
An example would be The flight of a bee from Winnie the pooh. Winnie the pooh would make an appearance trying to steal your honey. there would be a transition into the jungle book and the audience would feel the hunt of a tiger through the jungle.
Audience will be guided though the warm pastels of Bambi to the dark swamps of princess and the frog. it would be a very colorful and emotional ride.
Think wonderful world of Disney documentaries about animals meets disney's classic animation with Mickey and friends as your guide.
Maybe I'm not explaining it right but that's what I got out of it. Sounded really cool.

There was talk about a
Redo of journey into the imagination
Feature Disney characters. No idea about figment.
Uses the lps trackless ride tech.
Tag line is: you never know where you imagination will take you.
How an idea from imagineers can take a strange trip from concept to reality.
Each ride will give you a different perspective on the idea.
Think goofy's how to movies of the 40's.
He said there was talk of putting a major theme in each Disney park that featured Mickey, Donald ,goofy.
DHS has fantastic, MK has Philharmagic. The AK dark ride, and redo of Imagination would be the other two.

Sounded like a cool idea but with the recent refurb of the lights in journey into imagination, that ride concept might be off the table.

But looks like Disney is working on concepts...they just need to get green lit!

So I do think Disney will have some cool concepts being built from 2014-2020. I believe they want to have something new for each year.
Looks like Avatar will be the next thing we start seeing concept art for.

The Mermaid dark ride replaces the Snow White dark ride

I get what you are saying about the raw number of rides, but are you really comparing the Little Mermaid to Snow White? That is a bit of a stretch. LM has some really elaborate outdoor theming and the ride inside is much better too. Snow White may have had some nostalgic appeal, but the ride itself was not exactly state of the art. The theming of the FLE overall looks amazing. The landscaping, the mountains and castles, the trees and even the circus area all look great. That 1 mine coaster is so much better than a meet and greet or Tinkerbell. Maybe it's not going to be a thrill ride, but it too has pretty elaborate themeing.

I'm really kind of jealous of those of you who have access to "the larger plans" and things that the rest of us can't see. One night a few months ago I had a dream where I was near City Hall in MK and someone grabbed my arm and took me inside a door marked PRIVATE and there were all these plans for future attractions just laying around. Whoever it was that brought me in there said to look fast because the people in charge were out to lunch and I was not allowed in there but they thought I would like to see everything. And there were little models of all these really cool things that I can't remember now. I just remember waking up and having the sensation that I had seem marvelous things that if they'd ever build them people would be so very happy.

The people who get to see all the stuff that Disney is planning, considering, and dreaming up are really very lucky. I know they can't tell many secrets because they would lose their jobs but what a remarkable thing to be able to see all the proposals and concept sketches for unique and interesting rides that may never get built. What an incredible job!
