We've been do hooked up by the Seven Dwarves Mine Train that we're forgetting one thing: will it be good or bad? I think it will be good after I saw a video on how the mine car will work, but I haven't seen the actual ride. And that's why we care about every single WDW ride (I'm getting carried away, LOL) . And also, will it be as good as it's previous owner, the beloved Snow White's Scary Adventures? Let's discuss.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
It's gotta be better than Snow White's Scary Adventures; which in turn will probably turn out to have been better than its replacement meet & greet.
Call me greedy, but I would have preferred the Mine Train Coaster AND a replacement ride/attraction where SWSA used to be.

I think that 7DMC will be better than Mermaid (at least better than the Little Mermaid ride in DCA which has a half-finished second half and a lot of plastic fish that don't move).

I really like the landscaping they did on the Beauty and the Beast area of FLE, if 7DMC is the same, then expect a very nice area to walk around, such as the Norway Pavilion during Flower and Garden. The ride mechanism is new, and will be interesting, if you get the sensation of careening around the outside of the mine, then that part could be cool.

The negatives are that TDO didn't hit the ball out of the park, turning FLE into a "must see" for everybody. I think that if they did a massive 7DMC with more show scenes, and which weaved around the FLE, instead of just plopped down in the middle, it would have been a hit for the ages. We've got the dwarfs in the mine, and a cameo at the end. Really frustrating because you kind of get the sense that WDI didn't go all the way ( or likely the budget was whittled down), and yet another $50 million and we'd be looking at an E-Ticket.

Maybe Disney doesn't want such a big E-Ticket in fantasyland because the line could get really long and muck up the traffic flow, though they could easily stretch the line around the attraction.

Normally, when Disney does a "mountain ride", they are pretty grand affairs which have broad appeal and stay popular throughout the decades. Everest is still popular despite a broken Yeti, as is Splash and Space. I don't think they needed to make 7DMC necessarily have a massive profile, but more show scenes would have been OK, and would have pleased guests of all ages, even if the witch sort of got the axe.

Well, many people like Meet 'N Greets and, let's face it, a well themed princess one is actually a great thing for WDW. I mean, with the girls going to the BBB and wearing princess dresses, it makes sense to have a place to meet a number of their idols (and not everyone is going to do the character meals to see them).

That said, even with the changes in plans, there is a lot of meet and greets in the FLE. Personally, I think that the weakest one is likely to be "Pete's Silly Sideshow" since it will apparently feature characters already in the parks, but in non traditional clothes (which will be less popular of a photo op for fans). It's a nice size tent, so I would have preferred to see another ride added there instead -- it could even be themed to Pete's Silly Sideshow -- which would have increased ride capacity for the park more and really pushed the Circus area as more of a destination. You could still have "Snake Charmer Donald" and the like come out for photos at a designated outside area in the Circus from time to time.

I don't agree that the iconic characters in "non-traditional" clothes won't be a big photo draw. We've all seen, and probably have, pictures of guests with the fab four in a variety of Disney parks. Having a photo with Donald as a snake charmer or whatever is kind of a cool novelty, mixing an iconic character with a circus theme.

Having said that, I would agree that the area would be better used as an attraction as 99% of guests want an attraction over a gift shop, except when they are looking to buy something. I think that instead of Pete, they should have renamed the dual Dumbo Spinners to Dumbo's Flight Training, and used Kuka technology to make Dumbo vehicles that "soar" over a realistic 3-D country side, a circus and other scenes from Dumbo, and maybe some new stuff.

Sure, I agree. I meant that having them in non-traditional outfits is a relatively less popular draw, not that circus performer characters won't be popular at all.

My point was more that they are adding a bunch of meet and greets in the FLE and the other ones (princesses, Belle, Ariel) are all going to be very popular and fit in well to their environments. The Pete's Silly Sideshow, while probably being quite nice, is the one that seems the least "necessary" and is extraneous. If that were replaced by a ride, I think few people would be bothered. And it would have been nice to see the FLE have another ride.

I voted NO because too many people are expecting too much from this attraction. This will be a "C" ticket dark ride that sways a bit. Too many people are expecting a wild "E" ticket roller coaster ride.

What many people here seem to be expecting of the Seven Dwarfs ride is what they will actually find up at Universal in a few years...

But will Universal be offering Universal Express on the iPhone by then? Unlikely. So there. Disney 1: Universal 0.

I'm excited for it but I think people are expecting too much more from it. It's probably going to be just like the Barnstromer combined with AA figures from SWSA.

its been stated numerous times that this will be between the barnstormer and BTM, i think that this will be a very good attraction. But how many scenes were originally supposed to be in it, and how many was it cut down to?

It's going to be longer and faster than the Barnstormer with indoor scenes and the swaying of the cars effect. I don't see how the 7DMT is going to be particularly comparable to that ride.

I think the best Disney comp is the Matterhorn, which is a decent enough ride though not anywhere as thrilling as Thunder Mountain or Space Mountain. 7DMT will have more show scenes/audio animatronics while the Matterhorn is probably a bit faster. The 7DMT will have 2 lifts compared to the one of the Matterhorn. I believe that if you set your expectation for the "level of thrill" at the Matterhorn that you won't be disappointed in the 7DMT.

Good or bad could also mean is it a good or bad thing to add to the park. I am very excited about this ride if it is anything like the concept art and the video i watched it will be very fun. One of the problems for me is seeing prince erics and beasts castle while on the ride..it really takes the "in the forrest theme away". In my poinion SWSA should have been redone and the space for the SDMT could have been for another classic movie that has no home in the magic kindgom, Sleeping Beauty. Not like the original sleeping beauty auroras birthday party thing but some big scale ride. It is one of my favorite movies and I hope that one day there will be a ride in the MK for it.

You realize you've never ridden this ride, correct?

I assumed the new stuff would all be great and am disappointed to learn that they've decided to go with "good enough" as far as rides are concerned.

Why bother with an expansion if you aren't going to build state of the art rides? I just don't get it.

Still hoping, of course, but it doesn't sound good so far.

I think it'll be great. I'm really looking forward to it...sort of like a big beefed up Casey Jr. However, given that people seem to be expecting RSR or Everest 2, I doubt it'll surpass those expectations. I will say though that given the trends we're seeing throughout the Disney Universe, I think it's safe to say the exterior will be visually stunning to nearly everyone.

I really wish people would stop using the phrase "it's just a kiddie coaster" as a pejorative to malign the Mine Coaster. I think it's going to be a unique and interesting addition to Fantasyland and will quickly become a favorite ride for a lot of people.

I happen to really love mountain themed rides. When my family and I saw Rapunzel, we all thought that they'd use the mine car scene from that movie to make a ride in the parks (so maybe if Disneyland ever gets this ride it will be Rapunzel themed in California). I love the idea of racing around in a mine car.

I loved SWSA but I think Mine Coaster will replace it in a unique way. Seeing the Dwarves' cottage and the mountain ridge that's being built will be awesome. It will certainly be more beautiful on the outside than SWSA was (with that tournament theme to the exterior). I liked the creepiness of seeing Queen Grimhilde's dungeon and watching her cast her spells, so hopefully some of that will be in the Mine Coaster. I really love the idea of racing past giant gems and seeing glimpses of the Dwarves working in their mine. That could be amazing if they do it right.

At the end of the day, the Mine Coaster makes the Snow White story come alive in the park more than SWSA did. Having the cottage and the mine in the actual FLE instead of inside a building in the little scenes in SWSA makes it now feel like the Dwarves will be living in FLE and the Fantasyland Forest in particular. I really like that. Here's hoping Disney has the Dwarves walking around doing meet and greets in that area, with the Evil Queen prowling around too, trying to offer people a poisoned apple.

Another favorite target for the malcontents is to complain about the Princess Fairytale Hall meet and greet but I love that this is coming. I remember when my son and daughter were young and my nerves would be strained to the breaking trying to find characters in the parks when they were randomly wandering around. Getting a pic of my kids with Snow White and other characters was very stressful because I'd have to walk around the park keeping an eye peeled for them instead of just enjoying myself. The Fairytale Hall is WONDERFUL because it gives you a place where you can line up and get this picture if you want that. If you don't want it, great...but you no longer have to run around like a crazy person trying to stalk these characters. I very gladly line up to get these pictures for my niece and nephew and wish we had this convenience when my own children were young in the 80s and 90s.

For those who wanted an E-ticket in Fantasyland, there just was not room for it in this FLE plan. There is room for it, however, if they remove the Speedway and use that land for one Fantasyland E-ticket and one Tomorrowland E-ticket. Having E-tickets over where the Speedway is makes a lot of sense and in terms of crowd flow the Mine Coaster makes the most sense for its location in FLE.

I like this coaster a lot more than the Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty Meet and Greets that were originally planned, though I do wish Sleeping Beauty had some representation in the park. Maybe the new E-ticket for Fantasyland can be a coaster themed to Maleficent, with a battle against her in dragon form as an exciting climax.

I voted yes. With how nice everything in Storybook Circus and the almost completed portion of New Fantasyland looks, I doubt I'll be disappointed with the new miniature coaster that's on the way. I think it'll be fun and pretty neat, regardless if it's relatively tame or not.

Seriously though, I don't know why anyone would expect this to be a thrill ride... It's located in Fantasyland, among a bunch of very tame, child oriented attractions. A mind-blowing thrill ride would fit right in with the rest of the area.
