Six Flags? Woah.

The theming impresses me A LOT with IOA. Especially with the Port of Entry and the epic music playing in the background and hearing the Hulk roar in the background. So amazing! :D But I need to realize this is a WDW discussion board and trying to defend Universal and IOA will get me no where... Hahahaha. :p

Actually you will probably find more people on here who prefer Universal right now. It may be a WDW board, but there are just as many haters as there are lovers of the Disney parks. Some of them have not been to WDW or Universal FL in a long time if at all but they will still express their displeasure with WDW.

I've learned to keep my mouth shut concerning a lot of things here, LOL. God forbid we actually love Universal just as much, if not more than Disney.
I know, I actually sometimes would rather go to Universal Orlando Resort. I have a lot more fun their with my friends due to close hotels to the parks and being able to easily park hop between IOA and US.

And I certainly get the same feeling I get from WDW when I go to USO (like you said, hahaha). Plus, for Florida residents, USO is much cheaper for a single day ticket (70 dollars) compared to the outrageous 95 dollars I spent from my allowance when I went to DHS with some friends last week.

Uni is a lot closer to six flags than it is to WDW IMO.
How? Six Flags is just a bunch of rides plopped down on some land with little to attempt at theming or keeping the park clean. To to Six Flags America (ew) and tell me how it even comes to close to USO...

No worries, like I said I enjoyed islands of adventure but for me ( and this is just one mans opinion) it was lacking that little extra. If it makes you feel better, fantasyland at Disney world is missing that little something extra( looks like the FLE will address those issues. New world looks very impressive).
Harry potter is an amazingly themed land. Can't wait to check it out.

I'm not pro or con against any theme park, I go to have fun. They aren't my companies and I don't make money from Disney or universal. I'm just a fan of immersive themeing.

I've actually never been to USO, but I can still agree with you, since California has the same thing; competition between the Disney parks and Universal Studios. I remember when I first went to Universal Studios Hollywood. I fell in love instantly, as a movie buff and cinema lover. After I took the studio tour, it was a done deal. I fell even more in love when it rained one day, and Universal gave everyone free hot chocolate and complimentary tickets! Something Disney would NEVER do. I'm not ashamed to admit I enjoy spending Christmas season at Universal more than Disneyland. I'd go to Disneyland before Universal for Halloween, though.

Don't get me started on prices. Last Christmas I paid $80 for a Universal Annual Pass, no blackouts for 18 months. Not 12, but 18. I depend on others to get me in for free at Disneyland but that's not the point lol.

And of course nobody does Halloween like Universal! ;)

And if you go to Orlando, you should definitely go to USO! Islands of Adventure is truly amazing.

LOL I'm scared of the monsters, that's why I don't like Halloween at Universal. I could never pass up Universal if I ever went to Orlando.:)

Sorry to break up the Uni vs Disney debate, but back on topic...

Did anyone else look at the new overhead shots of FLE? The whole layout looks amazing. The theming looks amazing. The mine train looks huge next to those work trucks in the photos. I know that some people still want to call this a kiddie coaster but it looks much better than that in my opinion. Before anyone jumps down my throat I am not calling it a thrill ride or E ticket or comparing it to the big 3 mountains but it does look pretty cool.

We've been do hooked up by the Seven Dwarves Mine Train that we're forgetting one thing: will it be good or bad? I think it will be good after I saw a video on how the mine car will work, but I haven't seen the actual ride. And that's why we care about every single WDW ride (I'm getting carried away, LOL) . And also, will it be as good as it's previous owner, the beloved Snow White's Scary Adventures? Let's discuss.

I believe it'll be great. Notice how WDW is taking their time to perfect the ride, they're building a new ride system and a brand new mountain to the kingdom so it will be a new experience. If they would rush it and have it be completed in 2012 then it will be poop, but they're taking their time to make it good.

Thank you for getting back on topic, because I don't know why we came up with the Universal Studios fight in the first place.

While the Mine Train was always planned to open in 2014, it isn't because Disney wants to take their time to perfect the ride. It's opening late because it was added back into the FLE plans at the last minute and, most importantly of all, because Disney likes to spread out construction to help defer costs. These days, Disney seems to "take their time" with everything. There is no reason this ride couldn't open by mid-late 2013 if they got their act together. The fact that Universal just demolished a sound stage a month ago to begin constructing Transformers and it will open well before this is shameful. The fact that the entire second phase of the Wizarding World, complete with a replica of the London waterfront, Kings Cross, Diagon Alley, Gringotts E-Ticket, and the Hogwarts Express will most likely open just 6 months to a year after SDMT is just a complete embarrassment. I look forward to exploring the world of Pandora in 2032. I hear by then Disney's fastpass system will be linked to optical scanners and run on nuclear fusion.

Reasonable, measured thoughts IMO. You should be CEO.

And It'll be even better when I can rent my Fastpass Flux Capacitor to travel back in time and wait in line for Space Mountain WHILE im riding IASW.

This was funny.

Other than financial reasons, I can't think of anything that should have prevented the Mine Train from opening with the rest of it. this opening everything in bits and pieces is less exciting than if they had opened everything at once, too.

Uni is much better at this than Disney.

Well, know alot of things happened since the last post, the biggest being the first lift hill. Now we are making real progress as we are continuing on the track and covering it up from the public.

Do you mean they have started to install the actual track sections? Pictures?
