We're trying October for the first time this year. We'll be there at the tail end of the free dining, which we can't partake of. I figure with MNSSHP and Food and Wine going on, it may be more crowded than we think.

It wasn't overly busy last year. I have the memory of a goldfish, was the disney dining plan going on last year?

I don't think the free dining went into Oct. last year, I may be wrong. I'm used to going in May so as long as the crowds are not like that, it'll be great.

Everything is a matter of perspective. These last three weeks have been heaven...in the opinion of one cast member.

The other day I watched Finding Nemo the Musical with about 50 other people... The last few weeks have been positively dead at the parks (except for TSM)!

Argh, and Argh again, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is progressively getting busier each year. What started off as something so unique where you could look around and not see another guest has turned into something where the lines for attractions are just as long as regular opening hours.

I still attend the event each year (I guess moreful me) but just think it is a shame the guest limit is not capped as much.

We just arrived home late last night and there was a VERY large international representation in the parks over the last week. We noticed waits of more than 60 minutes on more than a few rides but used our fastpass and the single rider lines to avoid waiting. We had all ADRs in order as we used the deluxe dining and were pleased with the outcome. (I don't know how much weight was gained but it was worth it.) The last week was a little busier than we expected but still not unbearable. We will probably go back to our usual late Nov/early Dec or end of January just because we like the weather better. We much prefer the cooler temps.

Yeah, Septemeber is STILL a decent time to visit...i will not dissagree there at all...but it just seemed that THIS year crowd levels were up a bit then what i am used to.

I think what may have happened, now that i can see this better in hindsight, is when i arrived ( the 10th) things were still calm. By the weekend though it seemed a lot more people arrived at the Hotel and the Parks were a bit busier..which to be honest is to be expected on a weekend. My last two days ( 15th and 16th) i spent most of my time at AK and EPCOT. Both seemed to have larger crowds then usual for that time of year....but you were still able to get on any attraction you wanted with little or no wait ( the excpetion of course being 'Soarin').

I may well go back this January. I feel a need to return soon to make up for time lost this past trip. All in all it was still a good experience, but again, the levels of attendence seemed different this year.

We just got back last week and didn't really find it all that busy. Yes, there were a lot of people, but most ride lines were no more than 5-10 minutes (and in some cases no wait at all). The only time we notice it being busy was when trying to get on a bus to or from the resort.

Just got back this afternoon after being there since Friday am. MK on Friday was 5 minute waits except for SM at 20. Very nice. Epcot was fairly quiet as well, 30 minute waits on Soarin and TT on Saturday. Today at AK was fairly quiet as well. Our family finally got a Dreampass but we really didn't need them (but I'm not complaining).

I think unfortunatly there is no "off season" time anymore. For the past 5+ years we've gone the week after thanksgiving. It used to be dead. 5 min waits on everything. Now, it's more crowded than it was before. Each year it gets a little more crowded. I understand your frustration!! :(

Congratulations on your Honeymoon.

We always go the week of our Anniversary Sept 12 for the past 10 years. We opted NOT to go this year. Last year was insane and that was enough for us to change our minds. It was impossible to ride E tickets w/o atleast a 30 minutes wait. Soarin' was 2 hour wait!! Dinners with reservations still could take 30-45 minutes to be seated. And the buses........Don't even ask!

Here's pic from Sept 2005 the first year of free dining.

Maybe when they don't have free dining anymore we will go back the same time.
