Scentsy and Walt Disney World are bringing a new guest experience within Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom

So, from what I've gathered, it's either allergic to these smells, people thinking the company is awful, just general humor at the idea of running around a park smelling elephants, or a combination of all of the above. I'd agree with you, I don't think it's a big deal, EXCEPT, these reports of people handing out these bags and essentially having third party people actively approaching people at the parks I do not like at all.
I saw a lot of peddlers when I went to MK the other day… I don’t know why, but they would just walk right up into your face and try to sell you whatever random thing they are selling. Most seemed to have their own personal business…

I’m sorry, I’m happy for you that you have your own business, but there is a time and a place for peddling your product. NOT on someone’s vacation. I saw quite a few being talked to by security throughout the day. Seems like a relatively new occurrence.

What on earth does that have to do with this new offering?

It's obviously wrong, but it doesn't sound like Disney is affiliated with it in anyways and it also sounds like security is addressing it when they're made aware.

As they should be. But the reports SOUND like Disney approved this being done for scentsy. I can honestly say anyone did that to me at a theme park, I guarantee I would NEVER use their product.

Well, there is the possibility that this sponsorship opens up a “legal” way for them to peddle their products, annoying guests in the process. Though it does sound like CMs and all the sponsorship will get is a sign with their name on it and probably some shelf space in some of the stores. I don’t have any issue with the sponsorship though, I would actually like to see more sponsorships because it often pushes Disney to refurbish things or build new offerings.

Like inside MK? There should definitely not be solicitation on Disney grounds let alone inside th parks

A Ziploc representative once handed me a plastic sandwich bag in the queue for Splash Mountain.

I'm still recovering from the trauma.
They still give out ZipLocks at Jungle Cruise. The issue is when they have third party peddlers that you can’t shake. Imagine trying to do this new experience, which actually sounds quite entertaining to enjoy, and just being followed by a third party peddler.

Even worse, imagine they just aimlessly start selling to random guests within the land because they can. Sure, they might not and if they did it would likely get toned down by Disney, but what about the people that go before it would be toned down in said instance?

Yea, multiple in Adventureland and Tomorrowland… two held up lines in the queue, because you’re forced to walk past someone standing to the side in a queue. One held up the PotC queue and another was standing in the People Mover queue.

Just all to say that is could become “legal” for Scentsy to do in Storybook Circus with this sponsorship. Though, these peddlers were shut down within an hour as they should be. I personally reported two to security.

Jeeze dude, touch grass.

"Unethical"? Are you kidding me?

And oh my goodness, the marketing department marketed something! Consider my pearls clutched.
You said you didn’t understand why people were complaining so I gave you a summary. Many people find MLM unethical businesses. This is a discussion forum, I’m not sure why you need to make it personal. Perhaps you should heed your own advice and take a breather.

Holy hyperbole Batman, it's a side attraction for kids, nobody is saying this thing is the next horizons/spaceship earth. The fact that you can find issue with any of this is very telling how many here react to anything that is announced these days. Some of it is cringe worthy, but this one is not.
Yeah nobody’s saying it’s a major thing. It’s the lack of new attractions that’s annoying people. That’s a pretty simple concept to understand.

With the IG post? It is sponsored. They aren't not going to mention it in some way...
Sure, but they could wait till the thing’s already installed. The partnership was already announced as was an in park experience.

Let me reiterate…Beyond the weird influencer hype, I don’t really care. I was giving a run down to someone who said they didn’t understand.
There's a laundry list of new attractions that have opened in the last 5 years. If people find them subpar or not enough, that's their prerogative. But let's not act like nothing substantive has opened at WDW.
The issue isn’t what was done in the past, it’s the relative dearth of stuff coming in the future.

Oh course there is a lack of attractions but that has absolutely nothing to do with this thread or topic. That is like me saying there is a lack of quality of dining options in MK and blasting this "attraction" because of it.

People are disappointed, they’re clearly channeling that in the comment section of announcements like this. I suppose they think it’ll have more impact than GR or other avenues. I think most of us here know Disney only listens to wallets.

Hopefully this gets cracked down on and isn't a long term issue.

One thing to have a sponsorship and make some giveaway available to people who want it/seek it out .... another thing for people to interrupt peoples vacations in an effort to sell their wares/recruit people
