I have a feeling that after a few days of hot tourists getting reeeeallly close to those statues they're gonna start to take on a more unpleasant smell. In other words-

Will these guys pay 100% of the bill for this? Given Disney's current financial situation, I dont think that Disney has the money to spend on a scratch 'n sniff, candle sented, smell attraction/store/display thing right now.

Besides,...a project of this magnatude could take the current Disney 4-5 years to build and complete anyway.

We just got through Covid restrictions...there are still people wearing masks...and they announce a sniffing attraction? seems kind of tone deaf to me....
Covid restrictions? We got over them over a year ago. I think Disney has a pretty good sense (see what I did there?) that most folks have moved on, I don't think this is tone deaf at all. Its harmless and a plus for the little ones.

The issue isn’t the “attraction” itself. It’s that they did a preemptive promotion for it instead of just installing it, highlighting just how little of substance is going on at the parks now. The fact the sponsor is a MLM is ethically dubious at best.

The icing on the cringe cake is influencers and wannabes pretending to be super pumped for what’s, essentially, an outdoor bath and body works.

Jeeze dude, touch grass.

"Unethical"? Are you kidding me?

And oh my goodness, the marketing department marketed something! Consider my pearls clutched.

Yeah my kids will love this and it will entertain the family for 15 minutes. What the hell are people complaining about?

So, from what I've gathered, it's either allergic to these smells, people thinking the company is awful, just general humor at the idea of running around a park smelling elephants, or a combination of all of the above. I'd agree with you, I don't think it's a big deal, EXCEPT, these reports of people handing out these bags and essentially having third party people actively approaching people at the parks I do not like at all.

Holy hyperbole Batman, it's a side attraction for kids, nobody is saying this thing is the next horizons/spaceship earth. The fact that you can find issue with any of this is very telling how many here react to anything that is announced these days. Some of it is cringe worthy, but this one is not.
