My scariest moment was last Sept while on Star Tours.
I've been on it many times and enjoy it. This occasion started out as all the others, sat in my chair, we were in the back row, and clicked my seat belt shut, I pulled on the yellow tag as instructed and it was locked but then the CM checked the row lights and asked me to tug again, I did and it was still locked she seemed ok with that.
So the ride started..... Within seconds my belt came undone, I tried to grab the buckle before it completely retracted but it locked up and would move no further! I instantly felt embarrassed as I expected the ride to suddenly stop as there was a malfunction but it didn't! I spent the whole ride holding on for dear life, I wasn't expecting to be killed obviously but I was waiting to be flung over the other rows, being in the back row I was higher than the other rows. I didn't watch the screen, I spent the ride holding on to my seat! When we exited we told a CM standing at the exit, we weren't complaining but just letting them know what happened, he nodded and...... No he just nodded!
I must admit it slightly made me doubt the safety of WDW rides, when I rode Soarin' later on I just kept thinking what if this belt fails I'll fall ?ft to the floor! Also on The Forbidden Journey at Uni I thought the same thing.
This incident has slightly ruined my enjoyment of attractions with belts, hopefully I'll move on when I'm back Sept 2015.
When reminiscing with my OH I'll jokingly say "do you remember when I nearly died on Star Tours!!"
