Scariest memory in Walt Disney World?

Can you elaborate...I am very intrigued now. How does something like this happen? Obviously there are current guests in the room. Who moved your stuff? Why did they think they could pack you up and move someone else in?!?:veryconfu

It is a long story, but we had just checked in and got to the room and it had a bad smell and I mean a really bad smell (I believe the person that stayed in the room before us spilled milk and it must have benn in the carpet under the fridge). I called the front desk and complained about it and said I could not stay in this room. They could not hear me because the phone was also not working properly so my DD and I drove up to the main building to take care of this (we stayed in OKW). They said they would try to get us another room. I told them I was going to dinner since we were already late for our ADR @ Chef Mickeys and would deal with this when I get back. They were very accomidating and understanding at this point. I get back from dinner and pull up in front of the main building and start walking in and a bellman walks up to me and are you Mr. ## and I say yes. He says " we have all of you belongings here in storage" I am very confused at this point. Well, aparently when I complained they released my room to inventory and put someone else in there when all of my stuff was still there. Another guest actually checked into my room and when they got there they found all of my stuff out and had Bell Services remove it. They would never admit to it, but it happened. During this they dropped my new camera and damaged it. My cash and credit cards were left on the desk in my room along with my laptop in a haste to get to dinner. After this incident I was very concerned that someone else could get into the room at any point and demanded to be moved to another resort and then the lies started happening. It started as an honest mistake and got ugly and I am not going to get into the really ugly stuff. I will say that I will never stay at that resort ever again.

My scariest moment happened was back in 1981 when I was 4. It was our first time at WDW, and my parents took me on Snow White (and Scary Adventures wasn't in the name at the time!). When that witch turned around, it scared the ever living daylights out of me! My parents said I was traumatized for the rest of the day and that I just kept asking if the next ride would be scary. We ended up riding It's a Small World over and over because it was my favorite ride and not scary.

Of course, when we took DS at age 3, we rode it. He'd been watching Snow White a lot before we left for some reason, and we told him that it could be scary. He thought it was great. Of course!

When I was a kid I was terrified of rides with drops (actually I still don't care for them) and everyone wanted to go on Space Mountain. They told me it wasn't that bad. So I went in line and waited and such but when the time came of course I chickened. I was in panic tantrum mode and all. Anyways now it's one of my favorites. I still don't go on typical coasters but I've been on all the Disney rides. I even rode TOT several times in a row. I guess it's just that I have some sort of complete trust that at Disney you will be safe and taken care of .

Side note: I have a scariest memory for my grandparents. They went to the world a few months ago for the first time in a long while. Now they are quite old but perfectly capable so they were riding all they could. They heard of this twilight zone ride and decided to ride it. They had NO idea that it had this drop aspect to it, don't ask me how they missed that. I wish I could have seen their picture on it. :ROFLOL: They were both fine and actually rode it again later so I consider it funny now.

There is nothing like getting on a ride and realizing "Oh crud..." when it is something completely different than you thought it would be.

That's hilarious!!! At first you feel bad...imagine getting on a ride and being surprised like that, but since they enjoyed it....then it's funny. I can't imagine getting on the ride sitting there and then just going through the initial ghosts etc. and then....the door opens and you are looking out over the park and thinkg .....

Alien Encounter for my first time when I was little and when my sister got lost on our way to Space Mountain. Stupid us didn't realize we lost her until we got there. I think she was standing at the bridge before you get into Tomorrowland and when we went back looking for her she was with a CM.:sohappy: YAY FOR CAST MEMBERS!

The first time I had ever ridden Soarin.. Now keep in mind I took my frist plane flight in 06.. Me and heights are not to good of friends.. The first time I ever rode I was in the front row.. I have never held onto anything so tight in my life.. the guy next to me was laughing. I kept my eyes closed for most of the ride. I did open them and it was a cool feeling . So I decided to face my fear.. again.. I road Soarin in November of last year... This time second row... I was more scared in the second row than in the first because you can see the peoples feet above you....

can anyone explain what happened on 9/11 in the parks? i'm from NY and was obviously just focused on that but was aware of situations going on at disney. but when there is dust and debri on my car which is on long island and hour and 20 minutes from the city, i wasn't really paying attention to florida too closely

When i was there with my wife back in '96, or so, we were on the Skyway from Tomarrowland heading to Fantasyland at night, and the ride stopped abour 1/3 of the way there. no light on, no announcement, just us swinging in the breeze for 14 minute. I decided scaring her or pretending i was hearing a cable cracking was not in my best intrest either.

I would have to say my scariest memories are of Under New Management and Journey Into Your Imagination. It's frightening just how bad the changes are.

Waking up every morning to the "Appliance Direct" channel.

Terrifying.
Has anyone else seen this?

Ha ha, yes I know exactly what you are talking about! My neighbor LOVED those commercials. She would watch them and laugh and laugh. "Appliance Direct!" Good times.

I was in MGM Studios that day, we were booking a table at Mama Melroses. The lady at the counter said we couldn't and that we had to leave the park. We asked why, but she said if we didn't know then we will have to ask at the exit.

We left Mamas and saw that everyone was heading to the exit. It wasn't till we boarded the bus to get back to All Stars that we found out what was going on. There was a woman crying as her brother worked in one of the towers and she couldn't reach him.

A couple of days later, we were in the Magic Kingdom for the minutes silence. I remember it was raining very heavily and the park was almost empty. When it was time for the minutes silence, we were under the castle looking onto Main St as all the cast members left the shops and lined the street. Very memorable.
