I am amazed that in the 2 years since the closing was announced, that BEEZEL (sp?) didn't get more attention!!

Beezle (checked the Wiki) always seemed to be the red-headed stepchild of the Club. I think it's because the Treasure Room schedule was odd--very easy to catch a Mask Room or Library show, but the crowd always seemed to miss the Treasure Room (there may have been one extra Mask Room show as well). Plus by their nature Hathaway and Sam would attract a bigger crowd than Fletcher.

As much as I loved it, I suspect that if Pleasure Island was ever truly profitable, the AC was a loss leader. Just too much overhead. That's what governing executive managements thoughts.

Not how I hear it. I hear that although some clubs were money losers, AC held it's own profit-wise.

Which makes perfect sense why it is closed and the spot is sitting there making no money and bringing no happiness to anyone.

Holding ITS Own?

Yep. It was auctioned on Ebay this last week. Unfortunately, I forgot to keep up with it and just missed it. Went for only about $35:mad:

Think WDW was expecting higher profit margins out the entire PI Clubs area :veryconfu Duckberg

whether twas a money loser or not, it was often the one attraction that got me off my chair from 500 miles away and driving towards Orlando. The other attractions were for daytime.

I've talked to enough people who would know, and all agree (even Lansbury admitted) the AdvClub was modestly profitable. Keep in mind any given night people bought $25 tickets and used them only at the Club. 8-Traxx was the #1 money-maker, with Mannequins not far behind, and Motion also holding its own. Comedy Warehouse and BET were the money-losers; CW because the shows were too short, BET because PI never seemed to click with its target audience.

Kungaloosh Adventurers,

I was just checking the Facebook "Save the Adventurers Club" group, when I happened upon this incredible drawing from Skipper Brodie.

KUNGALOOSH - it's the Muppets Adventurers CLub: (left to right, front row) Hilda as club president Pamelia Perkins, Bunsen Honeydew as Fletcher Hodges, Link Hogthrob as Hathaway Browne, Robin as Emil Bleehall, Miss Piggy as Samantha Sterling, Scooter as Graves, (upper row) Janice as the maid, Statler and Waldorf as Colonel Critchlow Suchbench, and Gonzo the Great as Otis T. Wren.

I just wanted to share his fine work and hope that it is a source of inspiration for all to remember that the Adventurers Club is not dead. As long as we keep it alive in works like this and contiune to fight for its return (still formulating the next assault, will update soon), I continue to believe that we will have another Hoopla in 5189 Hill St. yet!

Some days you eat the mouse.
Some days the mouse eats you.
But never give into the mouse without a fight!

KUNGALOOSH!
