***SAVE FIGMENT***

Figment looks kind of ugly in my opinion and could use a redesign. A redesign, if anything, signals that some folks are interested in extending the character’s appeal rather than letting him die out through nostalgia. And that should be looked upon positively.
2003 CGI Figment looks ugly. But so do most early computer generated characters. The character design itself is fun and timeless.

Didn’t Kodak own a piece of Figment as part of their sponsorship if the Imagination Pavilion? They might be redesigning him just enough where they can claim it’s a different character that they own outright. The Philadelphia Phillies has to do that this year with their mascot, the Phanatic. The copyright reverted to the original owner so they redesigned him just enough to make him their own.

Perhaps to you, and nobody will ever change your mind. But the character design is definitely old and I can easily imagine he comes off as more creepy than friendly to most kids, with or without the context of the ride.

I think youre in the minority. Youre the first person ive heard not think he’s adorable. Theres a reason they merchandise him for the festivals. No disrespect

I’d rather see Figment scrapped altogether instead of being given such a drastic redesign
As much as I love figment and the original imagination, I actually agree. Even if Disney goes all in on an update and redesign. What has Disney done to make anyone think it won't just end up a mess? They have a better chance of creating something that doesn't stink by starting from scratch with a completely new idea.

With the combination of boneheaded corporate decisions and insane price increases, Im increasingly thinking I’d be much happier spending a couple of weeks touring Europe instead of five days at WDW.

A couple of weeks touring Europe is almost always going to be a better idea than going to WDW.

It's just a matter of time/money.

The redesign featured looks somewhat along the lines of what you’ll expect Figment to get if he were to be incorporated within an Inside Out attraction taking over Imagination.

According to the folks at Blog Mickey, Figment be getting a redesign, and a look at the new model was featured on The Disney+ series “One Day At Disney”.

If this is actually true, it might be the final tipping point to prevent me from ever visiting WDW again. That’s the point where I’m just DONE.

I’d rather see Figment scrapped altogether instead of being given such a drastic redesign.

It's a lot of years to late to be concerned about that. In the 90's when they redid Imagination, the Figment that we all loved was replaced by a nasty, smart a$$ lookalike. The original Figment has remained mostly a memory and seeing the physical likeness was the only thing that people were gathering for. Lost memories of something that was once great. As far as I am concerned if we cannot have Figment in his lovable, curious and excited manner then just let him die like the rest of the Imagination Pavilion has.

I guess there is an end to imaginations ability. The one time that I am happy to be old enough to have witnessed some of Disney Parks when they still had a working compass that didn't always point to a bank account only.
