May be a small leak…according to Reddit the website briefly said:

“Join us for a new Orlando marathon surprise! The Springtime Surprise marathon weekend is here. Inviting beginning marathon runners and advanced marathon runners to the race event at Walt Disney World!”

This news…would be interesting…like I would love to be apart of this race weekend. A marathon though…not sure about that. Thoughts?

It appears to be a Google search result (doesn’t show up when you click onto the actual site). I’m assuming it must be filler while they’re putting the page together, I can’t fathom them trying a marathon in April Florida weather after the most recent marathon was red flagged and shortened due to heat in early January!

January will be the only weekend that offers a full marathon. It's too warm by April.

Also - 156 days to train? that's cutting it close especially for 1st timers to train for a full.

Btw what was said about Springtime Surprise in the interview was “We have a race we have not announced the theme for yet, it’s our springtime surprise. Could be just general marketing but like I said before, it seemed genuine.

Remember the "hints" they dropped when they were announcing the Tinkerbell half? I wouldn't put much faith in their ability to choose/use proper imagery. Heck, I'd almost say the flowers are a nod to It's A Small World stylistically. So It's a Small World 5k is practically confirmed!

I tend to read into it too much. Side note though, a small world 5K sounds really fun.

Whatever it is, we need those details.

Yea, I really hope it isn’t a full. That would be very hard for me to accommodate for in terms of training.

I just wonder why that search specifically mentions a marathon. Why would they build the page out using marathon weekend (that’s what I assume anyways).

Someone in marketing who isn't familiar with runDisney or what a marathon even is. And a web designer using a template.

We’re doing what we call our Springtime Surprise and this is going to be a race the theme is going to change every year of that race. So we can make it special and interesting I know the themes already I can’t tell you yet but I can tell you the runners are going to love it.”

“Maybe one of those themes we pick” (in reference to a will Star Wars return question). I don’t think that’s in reference to this year though.

I have never been so happy to be right. Ironically, I’ll actually be down in Disney on a family vacation when registration goes live for this. I will do everything in my power to ensure I get into this challenge. Very excited the challenge is ALL of the events and not just the 10K and 10 miler.

I hope to experience this as my very first LIVE runDisney race. A little bit scared about securing registeration but will do my best.

I couldn’t have asked for better themes. I am so excited.
