nah.Uh oh. Does this portend any imminent cancellations?

The race dates still have stayed the same. I suppose we all will be surprise when they announce more details to the race weekend and when registration goes live.Uh oh. Does this portend any imminent cancellations?
What if they just announce the usual three-day race weekend but don't tell you what the theme is until you get there!
They've posted the dates so it is most likely the standard three race weekend. But you never know. This is independent of my Wine & Dine trip, however I am thinking about a weekend trip. Just for the Springtime Surprise, the only issue is I need more details. What are the distances, what are the races? When is registration? I would prefer to have that info.
If it takes more time, I could just do it virtually. A weekend trip isn’t a bad idea though.
Yeah, I totally feel an announcement coming soon - it's the same buildup as before.I think an announcement is coming…the last time they posted a picture of runners racing on the bottom like that they announced the races were returning. Maybe, I’m reading too much into it but it has to be announced soon I would imagine.
Total guess, but this could be right or it could even be before then. Like even today possibly even though that may be a long shot with Harm premiering today. That doesn’t have much to do with runDisney though except being in EPCOT and being part of the 50th.Yeah, I totally feel an announcement coming soon - it's the same buildup as before.
Would they do it Thursday/ Friday as announcement tie-in with the 50th? I could totally see they doing this years Surprise events are fan favorites from retired races.
I’d love to have them bring back those two races and something Spaceship Earth themed (partly because I missed out on the old versions). However, I’m not holding my breath that the images are actually hints. My speculation is that they just included those three rides in the header graphic because those are the three iconic rides that you run past in the three parks the Spring race routes have been using in recent years. It’s been 113 days since this event was announced and we still have no details beyond the dates. We know it’s still happening as runDisney continues to mention it in various blog posts, interviews from the 50th, as well as (what I assume to be) teasers. I wonder when we will hear what this weekend entails (at least) registration would be nice as well.
If I had to take a guess going off teasers and header artwork I believe two of the races in this three (I think) race weekend to be:
Expedition Everest Challenge (judging by the teaser as well as the artwork). Last ran in 2015.
Tower of Terror 10-Miler (judging by the teaser as well as the artwork). Last ran (I think) in 2014.
I don’t have any idea of what the third and I think final race would be in terms of theming or past races. The artwork suggests something to do with Spaceship Earth, Flowers, Goofy, and Mickey? A weird combo but that is what we have to go off of in terms of the artwork.
Would love to hear when everyone thinks we will hear more about this weekend. As well as what they think the races could be in terms of theming?
I also wonder how the Expedition Everest challenge and Tower of Terror races would actually be done? Since (according to my research) much has changed since then. Assuming these two are actually part of the race weekend. It seems too specific though unless it’s a general attractions theme.
EDIT: Assuming this race weekend has a challenge Galloway training (runDisney’s official training plan) would begin on November 30th.
I think they have decided on a theme. Based on how runDisney was acting during the 50th anniversary in terms of the interview. It could be just marketing but seemed genuine.I’d love to have them bring back those two races and something Spaceship Earth themed (partly because I missed out on the old versions). Given the amount of time since it went up, I’ve got my doubts that they had made any theming decisions (beyond “not Star Wars”) when they put up the graphics four months ago. I hope they’ve at least internally decided on something by now, but given that registration has been pushed from specific dates to an unknown point in the future, who knows?
I think they had medal previews and race info for all four races at the Expo last time they ran Wine and Dine, so my hope is that maybe they at least have a theme announced by the Expo in two weeks, but I’ve been wrong on most of my post-Covid runDisney predictions, so I’m not entirely counting on it.
Either way, I’ve got my resort hotel booked anticipating something will take place that weekend and we’ll eventually be let in on it!

If you are going full on retro for the events for that weekend, maybe some variant on the Minnie Marathon weekend? Doesn't really fit with any of the pics if you are going based on the header image, but it did finish at Epcot, and was held in the spring time. So kinda fits flowers & Spaceship Earth? (I'm reaching here)
While this can be true, I still find it strange they would post an image like this and then not expecting a reaction. If you are going full on retro for the events for that weekend, maybe some variant on the Minnie Marathon weekend? I think the issue with lumping a 3rd actual event in with the two you mentioned is if I remember correctly, those were both nighttime races. (Everest & ToT) If they were indeed to do 3 events, having 2 PM events followed by an AM event doesn't work real well. Not enough down time between Sat PM & Sun AM to reset and such without needing to basically double staff.
Personally I think that the images in the header were chosen simply because they are 3 recognizable parts of the parks (to indicate that it's at WDW), flowers to show spring, and the characters just because thats whats everyone likes. While I'd love to be wrong and have them bring some of those older events back to life, doing them all in a single wham kinda kills any draws for this event in future years.
This could mean nothing but…
Is this what I think it is?
They also posted this 5 days ago:
This can’t be a coincidence right?
EDIT: If this is actually one of the races, I would be very inclined to try and get down there. Obviously, the sources on those tweets are runDisney’s Twitter page.
The Go Red for Women 5K (part of the Minnie Marathon Weekend) was my very first Disney Endurance Series/runDisney event. That would be a fun throwback! If you are going full on retro for the events for that weekend, maybe some variant on the Minnie Marathon weekend?
