The other is that this is far too late for many, and really messes with people who are paying a premium to stay at DLR or GC that will now be more inconvenienced than those who are paying a 1/3 to stay on the other side of the parks.

In the grand scheme of things it’s still not that far.

I am sure Disney is looking at how people are getting to the start. For WDW races (half and full distances) we walk quite a ways to get to the start.

I'm about 4 weeks behind in my DL training but since I've lost almost 90 pounds my pace has naturally gone from about a 13:30 to 11:30 so I'm not overly concerned. I do, however, need to eventually log some longer runs and back-to-back day runs. I'll get there...eventually.

Just got the "costuming guidelines" email from runDinsey and it's the same exact for DL as it is for WDW.

  • Layered costumes,  such as ball gowns, hoop skirts, those that have an infrastructure with metal components or hard edges, costumes that do not follow the natural contour of the human body, and/or costumes that could conceal prohibited items are not permitted.
  • Layered clothing, including tutus over running shorts, cold-weather gear such as sweatshirts or sweatpants, and clothing that follows the natural contour of the body are permitted unless they present a safety hazard (e.g. dragging on the ground)
  • Costume or large props including, without limitation, those that surround the entire body (e.g. cardboard, plastic or other wearable costumes with hard edges, such as a house from Disney-Pixar's Up), those that are inflatable, or those that physically connect multiple participants to each other are not permitted.
  • Small, inflatable or soft-bodied, handheld props (e.g. an inflatable Toy Story ball) are permitted. 
  • Foam swords and all-plastic lightsabers may be permitted, however, they may not exceed 36" in length.

BE NICE TO CASTMEMBERS IF WE STOP YOU REGARDING YOUR COSTUMES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Were dland runs ever operating in the parks while open to guests? The ones I did were always out of the parks before opening.

Lots of cheering by guests in DtD at the tinish, but it's looking like the finish is at the eastern offsite parking lot now.

Magic Kingdom does open Main Street for the half and full for spectators so one could think they may do the same for Disneyland. I do believe they used to in the old Disneyland race days.

Disneyland / DCA are not open for business as all races are out of the parks by opening. There was no viewing inside the park on Main Street/ Buena Vista Street for the 5k/10k. You could purchase a viewing package for the Half Marathon that also came with some Merchandise to watch the race on Main Street or Buena Vista Street. Location varied each race. Since its not on the website or even a coming soon option I don't see them doing the pay version. There is always the Esplanade area between the two parks. It's a good option for the early risers that way your spectators still have time to make their way to the finish line.

But as all things are never constant with Disney its best to wait until the maps are made public especially with the new start area.
