Well for one thing, neither of those attractions are really standouts, so if Jungle Book was guaranteed to be exceptional, I don’t see what the problem is.
I think Kali is pretty popular and Na'vi is still because it is still kinda new. If the Jungle Book would be out of this world then of course add it, but if it is going to be another Kali or Na'vi I don't see why.

Disney fans: You know for $100 a day could we at least get a new pavilion at WS?

Multi billion dollar company: Lets not build a new ride using state of the art technology and improve upon a theme park that hasn’t seen substantial improvements in years. It’s too expensive.

I do like the idea of a ride with the Jungle Book Theme, but does the Animal Kingdom really need another boat(water) type ride. With Kali, Na'vi River Journey do we really need a 3rd?
While I love water rides and wouldn’t mind another, Animal Kingdom NEEDS dark rides...and Hollywood Studios NEEDS water rides...Disney is all backwards with what and where to put things.

Agreed! AK definitely needs more dark rides while DHS needs a water ride. Maybe a Indiana Jones inspired water/dark ride for the Studios while a Jungle Book dark ride would be a great addition to AK.

So much potential to work with in The Jungle Book. It has fantastic characters and also songs to work with too. As I seen in the other posts and it is true the Animal Kingdom really doesn't need another water boat ride really, but if you think about the entire makeup of the Animal Kingdom minus Dinoland water/boat rides really work. So this could really work if it is done well.

I agree the songs and characters are some of the best Disney has ever made. Plus I cant imagine how amazing the AA's would look for Baloo and King Louie.

I've always felt Kali "feels" shorter than it is because they sort of put the finale in the middle.

I second this. KRR's budget-cutting was already going to make for too short of a ride, but they compounded that by making it feel like it's over halfway through. One way to improve this would simply be to add a number of large rapids to the post-drop segment, thus sort-of extending the finale. Why haven't they done a simple "plussing" like this, which could really increase the attraction's GSRs?

Anyhow, as for the Jungle Book boat ride... I'm looking forward to hearing whether it's still on the table once Disney irons things out with their parks strategy. If Rohde is in charge of the project, we can expect it to be well-integrated into the design of Anandapur, and perhaps even feature a good environmental message, too...
