That’s where the India ride originated from.
Would it be correct to say that Epcot was competing with DAK for the same ride (i.e. a Jungle Book themed boat ride)?
That’s where the India ride originated from.
The original has demonstrated far more staying power in the public mind than the recent remake (much less the now forgotten 1990s live action version), so it would be the obvious choice.
Personally I love the original but the 2016 movie would make a better more "realistic" boat ride IMO.Based on what? I'm just not sure I understand what you mean by "staying power". Obviously the original movie has a much longer history but it is not a movie that has a significant cultural presence (well, at least outside of Germany) like other Disney cartoons. The remake made almost $1 billion worldwide and had great critical reception - I'd argue the plot and execution were superior to the original, unlike most of the newer Disney remakes - but I'm not sure how much "staying power" either version really has. Also, the remake was done by Favreau who seems to be really in Disney's good side these days so that might tip the scales to using that version to continue his involvement with the company.
Furthermore, I would think that the "live action" imagery fits in far better with the natural world execution of DAK generally and Asia (Anandapur) specifically. I think a cartoon based ride would seem out of place.
Anyway, Jungle Book seems like such a perfect fit for DAK among all of Disney's films that it is surprising that this wasn't already done or in the works.
I agree the ride would be a great addition to the park. It would be great to see what Disney could accomplish with the technology.DAK has Mt Everest, which is on border between Tibet and Nepal. Nepal is in India subcontinent. JB would work as consistent with that area. Just our humble opinion.
Yeah technically But........Asia...

Imagine this scene on a boat ride. The animatronic would be truly awesome!
Yeah it absolutely reminded me of the yeti . I agree EPCOT does need to be fixed up. Disney can still build this ride as well. When he put his hands up in a swiping motion...I got Yedi vibes...not sure if that is a good or bad thing.
I wouldn’t mind this happening...but they really need to fix up EPCOT.
Kali is too short. I think one of the shortest of that type of ride. Also you barely get wet. I want a longer ride.
I noticed Disney water rides do not drench guests unlike other parks where they don't care if you get drenched. Just a bit wet is boring.
Tiger River was very real. Then the underestimated park budget set in.I have no idea if that original layout of of Kali is true or not..
Dang that really stinks. Are there possible plans to fix or change Kali River rapids?Tiger River was very real. Then the underestimated park budget set in.
Maybe cut some bamboo down? Re ignite the fireball?Dang that really stinks. Are there possible plans to fix or change Kali River rapids?
I have never been on the ride so I really have no idea if its fun or notMaybe cut some bamboo down? Re ignite the fireball?
It’s fun. But short. It’s like Navi River but with something that happens.I have never been on the ride so I really have no idea if its fun or not
It sounds pretty fun. Next time I'm in Disney I will check it out. It’s fun. But short. It’s like Navi River but with something that happens.
Albeit less happens than it used to.
I don’t know about the others but I heard of Epcot 4 years ago.
