Rock'n'Roller Coaster Single Rider line on Friday (and another rehab!)

New lines were open today.
The new set up works nice, but I think they have some more refining to do now that guests are using it.
For instance, the single riders are only being let in to the preshow 10 at a time, and there is room for at least 20. Also, they seem to let far fewer guests from the combined fastpass and standby into the preshow.
For a posted 80 minute wait, it was a bad site to see the lines empty at load.
At one point there were only the 10 single riders , so we just all got sent on.

Here's what they did. The original standby line is almost exactly the same. The fastpass and single rider enter from the far right and follow the perimeter of the building and up a new ramp to a new entrance on the side of the building. The room you enter is practically identical o the room you enter from standby. Directly on the other side of the new room is where the lines meet up. The CMs now stand in the middle and let in FP, then standby, then single riders. The single riders go into there own door for the preshow and have their own line along the wall of the alleyway. From there it loads like Everest and it's single rider line.

One other thing to note. There is no way to "wait" for the front now. You just have to go wherever you are assigned.

Sorry, didn't have my camera. I'm sure there will be pics soon.

So standby now uses the 'indoor/original' queue, right? (instead of everyone simply walking through it)

Standby starts outside and goes through some switchbacks out there were it always had. It then goes up the same original ramp to the front of the building. The difference now is that the join point of all 3 lines is directly after the doors with the marbles in them. The area that use to switchback inside is now where the 2 new lines come in from the other side.
Does that help?:)

There is officially room for 16, but yes it can fit 20 tight. The same number of fastpass/standby are going into the preshow as before. The reason for empty lines at load is if there WAS a backup or extended delay at load, the preshow either gets paused or reduced. To get those back up, it takes 3 mins (length of preshow) to dump into the alley. Once the numbers are brought back up, the alley fills up again.

Yes they only let 10-15 single riders into the line at a time because think about this..... you get a show of almost all even groups followed by another followed by another where are the single riders going to go? They sit there untill we need them. Also about the rehab in september, yea whole other story. But we have worked the kinks out of the new lines and its running a lot smoother so come check it out. :)

I'm 17, & I rock out to Aerosmith all the time. I've seen them 8-9 times in concert, & each one as good as the other.

Plus, they're apparently recording / working on their new album, & they released two new songs on their newest greatest hits album, so saying they're going down.. well, isn't even close to being true.

They're doing a World Tour right now, & apparently touring the US again this fall, I can't wait to go & see them again.

HOWEVER; with my love for Aerosmith, it would be cool if they maybe.. mixed the music up of oldies or whatever.. say Motley Crue? The Police? Rolling Stones? Red Hot Chili Peppers? Black Sabbath? Think of the possibilities here! They could almost have different cars for different bands, maybe make the new intro almost like a "Woodstock," & you're going to see all these bands, but which will you ride too.

Black Sabbath - Iron man?
The Police - Message In A Bottle?
Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart?
Rolling Stones - Painted Black?

Just think of the possibilities..

Motley Crue? The Police? Ugh... I think Aerosmith is kind of perfect for the ride. As far as American rock goes they're one of the best bands and they have staying power. Chilli Peppers, I don't care for them at all. Horrible live band and not nearly on the same level as Aerosmith.

Aerosmith was third behind the Stones and U2. They were simply the most famous least-costly option. I love Aerosmith, but it really wasn't the imagined path of the ride.

Well I think Aerosmith was a MUCH better choice than either the Rolling Stones or U2. I'm glad things worked out that way.

I love Aerosmith and they are the perfect fit for the ride, their music is lasting. IF they were to change the ride and replace Aerosmith, the only other band I could see working would be the Rolling Stones, their image and music would work well with the ride. "Start Me Up" would be a perfect song.

I always wondered how different the ride would be if they changed artists. Would it make a large impact on the overall experience? Sure the pre-show and the ride music would change, but other than that it seems like investing a lot of time and money to change the band wouldn't make much difference. Just my two cents, I guess we have to wait and see. Of course I wouldn't mind some new effects...

Riding that coaster to "Where the Streets Have No Name," "Vertigo," "Mysterious Ways," and "Sunday Bloody Sunday" would be incredible.

The single rider line was great, even with last week's crowds. Don't know if it was lack of publicity or what, but we always got on within 15-20 min. while standby was about 100 min.

I did feel sorry for the surprising number of single riders that waited in the regular standby line!

Do miss having most of the preshow details cut out even in the standby line. :(

Right, my review of the new line was from the 1st day... I'm sure over time and practice it has become more efficient. I will be back to try it again soon.

I cant believe it needs any more refurbishment it just got a 3 month long one. I was planning on going in September but I might have to change my plans if this is true.

you are gonna be changing your plans a lot if you are waiting to visit during an off season (like September) when no rides will be closed...
