I did a search and didn't find any current related threads so I hope this hasn't been posted yet.

Construction is just about complete on the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster single rider line and should be opening on Friday morning. This also includes a brand new rotunda to route the singles and FastPass lines in the building. Training is happening early that morning so come on over and help the cast practice!

In other related news, there is another refurbishment scheduled for September with some major changes in the works (a lot of them backstage). More news on that as it comes in ...

PLEASE -- like some of the ones in the computer animated rendering they show on the resort channel? (Ok, maybe not the spinning doughnut)
haha...how awesome the ride would be if it were at all similar to what they show in those commercials haha. I know it's impossible (well, impractical), but they could certainly add effects to be MORE like that.

This just in!

The fall refurbishment will feature a change to Rockin' Rock'n'Roller Coaster Starring the Red Hot Chili Peppers!

It's obviously a joke, but is there a reason Aerosmith got this in the first place? Signing a band that's on its way down doesn't seem like brilliant work on Disney's part...

Aerosmith has been a concrete pillar in the music industry, and a long lasting one. No they aren't top of the charts anymore, but at least their brand is recognizable by most everyone and they still have a sizable fan base. If you inked someone who was near the top of the charts when this ride was in production... you may not know how long they will remain on top. Then you have the issue of backing a band or singer that was a one-hit-wonder.... with a ride that is supposed to last several decades.

I know Disney looked into the Rolling Stones for this ride... but their fees were unfathomable.

I just saw them in concert a little over a year ago. The arena was sold out and the show was awesome! They are definetly not on there way down.

:D If only...I would enjoy that much more! Not to say that I don't like Aerosmith, but just picture riding RnR to "Rollercoaster of Love" by the Chilis...or perhaps "Give it Away" (perhaps not appropriate for the younger crowds :lookaroun ). *Sighs*

There is not another American rock and roll band that has the name recognition for more decades than Aerosmith. They have played 2 Superbowls pre and halftime shows, sung the national anthem at the Indy 500, not to mention the Saturday Live apperances, Movie Songs. They are the perfect fit for a roller coaster in the most American of theme parks in the United States.

Thanks for the update, hopefully the single rider line will limit some of the waiting I'm probably going to be doing on Monday.

So I suppose RnR featuring Britney Spears would not be an option????:animwink:
I mean The queue area could be rehab. One minute were in the next minute we are out again. We keep going in these doors and they lead you to rehab and then your in front of the building again. Then all of our heads get shaved
and we flash our private parts to the paparazzi before we get into our limos that have babys on each seat that we have to hold on our laps as we drive away.......We then pick up our pictures from the photo op that look like divorce papers and get in line to do it all over again..... POPOZOW!!!!!!    :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL:

Good to hear this is about to open up. I am always glad to hear when SLR's are at attractions and I can't wait to see pictures.
