Rock n Roller coaster troubles continuing

Why the discussion over whether the public should know? And, since when has that mattered? We're all pretty much rabid fans here following every move the mouse makes from new flowers to new attractions whether it's made public or not. We've kind of made it our business to know their business whether they want us to or not. Which, I would venture to guess, most of it they don't want us to know, but that's never stopped us before.
I think all of us here want to know. I know I would.

However, we don't necessarily have a right to know like some folks are insinuating.
You have got to be kidding.
Interesting, I thought the same thing when I read your post.

Just because you are a paying customer doesn't mean that you are privy to everything about the company that you are purchasing a product from.

This may be a safety issue and if people have been or will be affected other than the inconvenience of a ride closure, I'm sure we will hear about it. Otherwise, while we would like to know, it's not our right to know.

Yes, this.

What are we in, high school?

"I know someone who likes you, but I'm not going to tell."

If you know and can't say, then just don't say anything. Either that or PM the person you're talking to.

Sounds like some of the posters are in HS.

If you don't want to post your knowledge on the subject than simply don't post anything at all! It is simply childish to say "I'll tell you when I see you at work" to another poster or "I know but can't say". It adds nothing to the conversation and only serves to aggravate other posters and increase speculation.

I don't have an opinion one way or the other whether we should know or not. I guess I just don't care enough.

I simply don't understand why anyone would bring up the "secret reasons" on the board if they're not going to discuss them.

It's just kind of stupid. Neener neener neener.

Some people that work for Disney talk as if they work for the CIA.

"Rock n Roller Coaster? Sorry - It's a need to know basis, and you don't need to know."

It better be open when I go in a few weeks.

I'm sure they'll have it fixed just in time for you.
Sorry, but your comment just comes across like a threat. As if you will do something to them if they dont have it open. I would assume you didn't really mean it that way. Maybe it's just me, but, that's how I interpreted it.

Indeed! Why must people comment on this, if they don't have anything to add. The forum is for news and rumors, which means, if you have something news-worthy, or maybe even if you heard something, then post it, otherwise, just lurk.

I'm not trying to be a b*tch here but my family will be at WDW in a couple weeks. This is one of our favorite attractions. I don't give a rat's patootie what the details of the issue are, what legal is up to, etc. I wanna know if this is safe to put my children on. Do I trust Disney to do the right thing when it comes to safety? For the most part, yes. But I *am* still the momma. If I allowed my kids to ride this attraction knowing what I do from this thread and, God forbid, the unthinkable happens (which you all have to keep in mind that crazy unexpected crap does happen from time to time) then I have to live with that. Chances are stacked that nothing would happen. I know. And I fully expect that Disney would not be so dumb as to take really stupid risks with guest safety.

So, to the CM's on here who know stuff and don't wanna say too much:

I respect you. I realize the risks you would be taking in saying too much. Understandable. All I ask is for you to tell me if it were your child, your sibling, your loved-one, etc. who was about to go for another ride on RnRC right now, would you be okay with this or would you tell them not to go? That only requires a yes or no. If you aren't comfortable answering here, PM me. I'll send you my phone numbers, etc. Heck, I'll come look you up and speak to you face-to-face before we go to DHS.

Thanks.

Let me answer this for you.

If it's open, it's safe. Period.

BTW, the Lines app is showing RnRC open at some point this morning. A little while ago it showed a wait time of 33 minutes but reported closed 12 minutes prior to my loading the page. Now it's saying a 37 minute wait but reported closed 8 minutes ago. Not sure if their system is assuming it was open today, listing a forecast wait for the time of day, and then the users reporting it closed is kicking the closed for __ minutes is making it look this way.

I wish I could say I trusted that. I want to trust that. I do. I freakin' love RnRC. I'm just not feeling okay with this one. I'm certain this panic is 99% my insane recurring nightmare issues that I've been plagued with for years. The details bounce between actual nightmare scenarios but the basis is always the same: I'm watching really horrendous things happen to people I love or even to people I don't know and I can do nothing to stop it. Used to be tornados when I was a kid, mostly was watching commercial airliners nose-diving when I was pregnant both times, then several years back I had one where I let my boys go on a big coaster in an outside setting while I stood at a fence nearby watching them. Guess what happened? Gawd, just remembering it brings tears to my eyes.

Also, if there's one thing I've learned in my 36 years it's to listen to intuition. If something doesn't feel okay, it usually isn't. I guess I'll keep an eye on things and make the call when I get there.

But thank you for your words of reassurance. I appreciate that.
