go to www.digital-digest.com i am sure you will find many tools that do it there...

problem being that they will be FAR from DVD quality...in fact..it may be worth it to not even bother since the final output will be "double" compressed...

I added Small World DIVX to PopKid's FTP (thanks PopKid).

There's the 10.5MB one which is 50% quality (not great)

and a

12.3MB verion with is 70% quality that looks much better.

Right now they are in the uploads folder.

Remember, you will need DIVX4 to play them
(DIVX4 )

hmmm, i just double checked and they worked fine here... might just be too many users logged in right now. make sure your using the links from my post, and not the qouted version...

you can try and log into the server this way:

ftp://12.33.77.254

username: wdwmagic
password: media

see if that works for you

Any chance you could send me the upload logon info? I have some futureworld atmosphere footage, AK Lion King Show and the Safari ride. It took me awhile but I'm finally learning how to do this They are rather large files for dialup users but the quality is ok.

WMV vs AVI-DIVX

Well I finally found a way to convert WMV to AVI. If anyone is interested, PM me.

I have converted Epcot Souvenir 1 to AVI using DIVX, I will upload it when I get the chance with my slow connection. The file size is the same, the quality is a little better. Of course it was converted from the one already compressed by WMV, but if I had access to the capture source it would be about 5x better without much increase in size.

It took 6 minutes to create the AVI.
Using DIVX/AVI instead of WMV also lets you apply a lot of nice effects with VirtualDub, such as adjusting the colors post-capture, cropping noisy edges, reducing noise, etc, etc, etc. Judge for yourself:

I just realized that I uploaded the Lion King file without the dead air cut from the end. Sorry about that So 1 or 2 megs of the 48MB file are black dead air at the end. PopKid, let me know if you want the one that only contains video all the way through. I'll upload more as I learn how to better compress this stuff.

I also keep getting an error popping up everytime I try to download them. Its something to the extent of "The password was not allowed."
