<a href="ftp://wdwmagic:media@12.33.77.254/video/epcot_souvenir003.wmv">epcot souvenir program - part 3 of 4</a>

spagmoid, the highest quality capture i have of these clips is as a 513MB mpg. i might be able to re-capture it at a smaller size, just need to play around with dazzle a bit more -

Popkid, I'd like to see what I can do with your source, if you could send me like a 20 second clip from it. I'm sure I could get better quality out of it with DIVX/AVI

I had a little time to mess around this afternoon and redid Small World. I made the 8-minute, 11-sec clip down to 10MB or so, but it doesn't look that great. The 35MB version looks much, much better, but that's a big chunk for dialup people to download.

You'll need DIVX-4 codec to play it which can be acquired
HERE

Just tried to upload it onto PopKid's server, but I do not have access permission. Can you help me PopKid (if you wouldn't mind)?

Anyway for when you guys do get to see it...
For reference.. this was captured at 320X240 (any higher and I get a big interlace mess that won't deinterlace properly.. ALOT of blurring). Audio is MP3 11Khz 16-bit 2kbps mono. Video is DIVX4 50% quality-based medium. Only filter applied is 2-D cleaner settings, 15, 2, 2. Only took 10 minutes to encode with these settings, so that says alot for the quality (seeing Popkid has his encoding for hours on end), but the video I made is watchable.
I hope to share this video soon so you all can see.

Jedi, if you want to send me a short clip of the original I'll tell you what settings to use to make it look good. Any quality below 75% sacrifices too much quality. Also make sure your encoder is on "slowest" mode.
It shouldn't take hours to make a good video, I usually encode around 10fps
Also I would keep the audio at 22khz 7kbps, audio is small enough at that level and there's little noticeable quality loss.

spagmoid .. what is your e-mail address? PM it to me if you will, so I can mail you the 20-sec clip. The reason the audio is set the way it is... is because my camcorder only records in mono and when I capture it to my computer, you don't hear an audible difference between 11khz and 22khz... I figured why capture any higher than 11? If it doesn't make much file size difference.. I may have to recapture. :)

Nope...wont work. you would have to re-compress them as a DVD format (VCD or mpeg4)...

Jedi: I will PM you. You can't really tell if your audio is bad until you put on headphones. I would use 22Khz as the minimum. (I meant to say 3-4 kbps for mono)
