DMC-12

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.

So thanks to whoever! :sohappy: :sohappy:

I had a few of my 20 points taken away because I applauded someone's post with so happy smilies. Then someone took away a few of my reputation points saying that I should "Atleast add on to the conversation."

So, question for you - If you don't see anything listed, then no one has entered any reputation points, positive or negative? I usually read and only post occasionally, so that would make sense. Can't offend anyone if I don't post :lookaroun Or can I?

Correct. I just gave you some rep. points. It should now show up in your user CP.;)
Thanks - it's much clearer now and I see that you can't tell too much about the origin of the points or comments. Interesting, and yet to an insecure soul, possibly disturbing. The clarification is greatly appreciated as are the positive points - Thanks!

i got a positive point and a comment, but how do i see who left it? sorry, im confused about this whole system. :hammer:

You can't see who left it unless the person leaves his or her name under "comments".

Frankly, I don't put much credence in the reputation system. It rarely is an accurate account on truly who is a "good" poster.

The problem is that people too easily give others negative points based upon conflicting opinions. That's just stupid...

Disagreement does not indicate poor sportmanship.

Ahhhhh, I gotcha. So the person is neutral, not the actual feedback. I must have taken my stupid pills this morning instead of my vitamins.

Thank you!

Sorry for the confussion on this. I had gotten two comments lately. If I go into User CP I see them. The first was from you Erika and it had a green square in front of it. The second was in response to this post and it was from someone else and it just says See it's easy! Woody. That one has a gray square. From what I can tell you need to select positive or negative when leaving the comment. I am just trying to understand it all.

Maybe Woody's square is green because he has a very bad reputation?

That is correct (well gray not green). You see, I have -947 reputation points so I have been effectively neutralized in the reputation area. But I'm making progress. Just a week or so ago I had -1,000 points!

red--and I really dislike people giving negative feedback with no comment. If you are going to mark a person down, they deserve to know why.

Taking a chance on getting another negative. I fully agree with you on this. I received my first negative, that I know of today. Somehow this negative was worth 6 points, and what's worse is that there was no comment with it. The thread I received this on was the "What parades are done?" question. If you don't want an opinion DON"T ask for one! My answer was very benign: "Bring back Tapestry of Dreams, or something like it."

I think if we're going to have the capability to change reputations, at the very least negative reputations should have to have a reason or they can't be submitted.

Like MichRX7 said, (paraphrasing) spend all day posting, say one thing one person doesn't like and Whammo!

If you don't like what I post, by all means give me negative feedback, but at least have the guts to tell me why in the comments section or pm me!

Rant done!

Sorry that happened to you :(. I agree a reason should be given with negative feedbacks, and I have done so with the couple of negative feedbacks I have given out.

I just went to check my reputation and someone gave me a positive feedback for the same thread (What parades are done...) and I got 13 points out of it . Thank you whoever did that .

Actually I think not only should it force you to leave a comment (I mean really, what do comments take like 1 second to type?) it should also give the name of the user who left the negative points. As it stands right now if I was having a bad day I could give everyone on the forum negative points and no one would even know why it was done or who was doing the doning...

If I leave you negative points (which up till now I haven't done yet), trust me I'll have a good reason and I'll put my (user)name next to it.
