Yeah cause this is not scummy at all...I rest my case.

Those are the people I'm making fun of that I'd see all over DTD that everyone is saying I'm being offensive too....
Calling someone scummy when you have no idea who they are is being offensive...especially if we have posters on this board who look like that or know people that look like that...we have no idea if we do.

You are judging people based on their looks.

Who gives a crap what they look like..seriously...and I doubt that just because they look that way that means they are hoodlums and cause problems.

Do not judge a book by its cover...

Seriously people..:brick:

I'm not gonna post them again, twice in this thread is enough, but...wow...what is the deal with the guys in those pictures?!?
Horrible, just horrible. I need to know where they lurk, so that I may avoid them.
Makes me glad to not be that age these days.

Buncha freakin' Oompa Loompas....

Don't worry Lee that look it pretty much dead these days. Living in New York I got to watch the rise and fall of the "Blowout" hair. At times it was entertaining to watch. I could have entire nights at the clubs just making fun of these guys. They really did provide some great entertainment in the clubs. However, everything eventually comes to an end and thats the case with this. These guys have evolved into something much more normal. You can still pick them out but thankfully, for them, they fit in much easier now. However Lee, if you really want to see this endangered species I'm sure you could try the Jersey Shore this summer and find a few stragglers who are still holding out hope that the look will come back.

When we went to DTD before they opened up PI, I didn't mind walking around. But it would be nice for them to make it more attractive for those walking around and open up a gated PI for those who want it. I have never felt unsafe at DTD and I hope that doesn't change. I just hope that if and when they put in new restaurants and shops, that they are unique. Make them places where it's the only spot to get those items in WDW. It is getting tired when you go into a store and it's the same product that it's in every other store on site.

To be fair, those guys were not in the clubs (well at least not the AC and Comedy)

You just had to run the gauntlet of them to get into the clubs.

And its not a sterotype to say they are all of a certain type. They may be nice people or they may not be, they are individuals, but just by dressing and acting the way they do, the demonstrate what they think is "cool" and desireable.

I wouldn't call them a gang or thugs - just stupid kids who hopefully will grow out of this phase.

I can agree with this. I knew a lot of guys who looked like this. Most of them were pretty good guys. I wouldn't walk out the door looking like that, but to each his own. Oh, and I actually do know one of the girls in those pictures. She realized a few years ago that when you google "Guido" that picture would come up. She was pretty upset for a while.

ok ok....... so as many understand, and no one argues, PI was having problems with some unwelcomed groups of people, who may have made the area not as comfortable for families.

Disney security was working on keeping these people out in recent years, as i'm sure everyones heard of.

but onto those pictures above....... WHO ARE THOSE GUYS, they are quite possibly the funniest looking guys i have ever seen..... they look close to my age (i'm 19) and i have never met someone like that, nor do i want to, they look soo funny, especially w/ that fake tan, and their spikey hair..... They look like oompa-loompas.... HAHAHAHA

how do people take those guys seriously, if i saw them at PI i'd laugh, i wouldn't feel threatened.... i'd just laugh.

their mom's just need to do a better job of parenting, slap them a couple of times tell them their white and move on with their lives....

(btw, no one nowadays does their hair like that FYI)

So what you're saying is that if day Maggie comes home with some dude painted orange and throwing up Wu Tang signs you're gonna smile and say well golly this is grand?

I can honestly say that I would not judge them by their looks...now if I knew that they were troublemakers or bad for her then that would be different..but that would be the same for a guy wearing a Polo shirt and khakis.

Everyone goes through phases in what they wear and how they do their hair, makeup, music....but that does not make them scumbags.

Have you ever talked to people who looked like that?

Do you know for a fact that every one of them is a scumbag or a trouble maker?

Just because they hang out in groups at DTD does not mean they are problems..and does not mean that is why PI closed down because guys with orange faces and high brushed hair hung out there?

Do you get what I am saying here?

I am not trying to argue just say that you can not call people scumbags or problems unless you know for a FACT that they are.

True.
Scumbaggery is not visible to the naked eye. It only becomes obvious upon close investigation, involving communication with the individual in question.
Funny hair and orange skin doesn't make you a scumbag, or a problem person. It just makes you a clown.:D

Seriously, I never saw this type at PI...but then again I rarely ventured further east than the AC. Down at the other end may have been lousy with them.

We are just going to have to agree to disagree. But to answer your last question I know a ton of dudes like them and they all are scum bags. Cocaine heads, women beatin scum bags.

Oh, I'm not denying that they look ridiculous, but I know plenty of people who have dressed/appeared like that and are generally nice people. On the other hand I know some who are scumbags. But heck, I know people who dress and look like me that are scumbags. So to label anyone and everyone who looks like that a scumbag is a complete stereotype.

And Lee, I never saw anyone like this in the clubs or outside them, but apparently regular visitors to PI don't know what they are talking about.

Those guys do look pretty assinine. But I have to wonder what our parents generation thought of us, with our designer jeans, silk shirts open to the waste, gold chains, and huge hair. We thought we were cool too.:ROFLOL:

The thing is not everyone who looks like them are cocaine heads and beat their wives..I could say that I know of someone who is a druggie and beats people up who wears camo shorts...but then is it fair that I can assume you are the same because you are wearing camo shorts in your avatar?

I just do not think you are getting what I am saying here...you can not always base people on what they look like or wear!

So true...z cavvariccis and tight white turtleneck shirts tucked in were what all the guys were wearing when I was younger..we thought they were cute but if I look at pics now I wonder what the hell they or I was thinking..

I do understand what you are saying...Honestly I NEVER judge a book by its cover because thats happened to me my whole life. I was born and raised in the city, and my senior year of high school I moved to the burbs, and was the "ghetto city thug dude"

I am judging these kids on how they were acting in public, grabbing themselves, swearing, wrestling with each other, throwin stuff around...To top it all off they look like complete morons.

Do these dudes look like scumbags? Absolutely...Does the guy in the suit who sits next to you at church look like a scum bag? No. But IS he a scum bag? Probably...you never know till you see how someone acts. Ive seen how they act and its just obnoxious to me that you would go to Downtown DISNEY and act tough...

err...has anyone thought for a moment that the guys in those pics were doing that as a joke? It looks like they went to a dance or something, and sometimes friends decide to do something crazy as a group. They don't look serious or threatening. I for one find the pics quite humorous.

I think if they had groups like that at PI, they would have stuck out (literally) to me, but like Lee, I never made it past AC.
