Sorry, but, I never have (I have been able to smell the oranges easily). Maybe it is because things like that are never a focus for me. If it is strong enough to cause harm, I will notice. If not I have more important things to do then fret over a minor odor. It is synonymous but, not unanimous! Perhaps the odor from unwashed armpits is overriding that minor problem. It may be there, but, to me it is much more of an exaggeration then a problem.
No ones fretting.

But the Speedway smell is (in)famous.

For now.

If this is true I think the end result would be amazing, but for some reason I cannot imagine that ride in that location.

Assuming for a moment this is legit: cloning the Shanghai Tron coaster on the speedway track will present the biggest show-building/interior sight-lines challenge MK has ever had. It is a huge, mostly-unthemed box - bigger than RnRC - that would require something extraordinary, like Flight-of-Passage-scale rockwork cliffs, on the Alice/Circus side to keep it from overshadowing that area with a giant warehouse.

I obviously haven't seen the coaster in person, but am I the only one who wasn't that impressed by it? It's "cool" and all but no thanks.

I've been on it and I loved it. Best coaster Disney's ever made imo. Just the 'bike' riding position alone makes it so unique and new. Only criticism I had about it was the big box everyone could see from inside the park. I think this coaster could work without the outside portion. Than they would be more flexable how they want it to look from the outside. Although the outside portion was the most beautiful part at night. Aaand walking beneath the coaster also was really impressive, so I don't know haha!

Oh it was worse than that. Certain pieces of concept art destroyed the image of Space Mountains solitary vista. Even made BLT almost look normal next to the Contemp.

Personally I'm hoping they continue down the alternative road they seem to be going down. No pun intended.

This.

Part of the strength of Autopia is its place as a buffer between Fantasy and Tomorrow. It gives a breathing room for two otherwise completely unrelated worlds to exist. Unlike the other lands where thoughtful (and brilliant) transitions were put into place, there seemed to be an early realization that in order for the lands to avoid a terribly jarring transition green space was needed. That's Autopia.

This building would tower over Fantasyland. It would make the newly built Seven Dwarves Mine Train look that much more unimpressive. It would emphasis man made in environments that had recently taken a more natural approach. It would blow scale.

Short of totally replacing the circus area and removing dumbo, I'm not sure how they proceed. This would be massive.

It's pretty great. I liked it quite a bit. I think placement on Autopia would be a challenge, but people would like it.

I'm pretty sure of that.

Oh, the ride itself looks great but I watched a walkthrough of Shanghai and Tomorrowland, visually in some areas is a massive improvement but I didn't love the exterior of Tron during the daytime. It looks great at night and the ride looks fun but I have to experience it in person too. It's not something I'm dying for but I wouldn't object at all if we got it. I think the design fits Epcot's Future World more than Tomorrowland at this point but they're both a mess anyway so ... LOL

If not fretting, then noticing with inflated importance and I have mentioned a million times to quit exaggerating.

We know, we know. You're the forum spokesperson. All you so is remind us that we must all feel the same way that you do and that we are all just exaggerating things that are deemed "bad" or lacking in "theming". Seriously, take a nap or have a Snickers, man. You're too grouchy for the forums.

No, I'm not forcing anyone to think the way I think. What I would like people to do is stop forgetting that there are other people in the world besides themselves and that it does matter to kids and their memories and not everything should be leaning toward the wants of grownups. Just out of curiosity how often do you think I have ridden those cars since my initial ride with my children 35 years ago. The answer is a big zero, however, I do know how important an experience it was for them and that now, even at age 43 and 41 they remember that experience vividly. Sorry, if my wanting to defend a child's opportunity to enjoy their childhood as being old and grumpy, I will happily stay this way and you can, of course, put me on ignore.

Speedway can and should stay. As certain insiders have eluded to, the cars will most likely run on an alternative fuel.(I'm speculating...electricity.) It can easily be built on top of, putting much of the track inside opening up possibilities for theming in line with any number of IPs. Something Disney obviously likes. Now you can keep a classic (small children loce the idea of driving), not decrease the number of rides, and add an additional attraction.

I agree with you quite often on here, and have openly lamented the kneejerk negativity of this board. However, Martin is right, as someone who doesn't care whether the speedway comes or goes and was never bothered by it, as someone who has been to more short track auto races than I dare to count (gas smells good, methanol is better), and as someone who has gotten so used to auto smells not to even notice them: It seems hard to believe someone has walked by the Speedway often and never noticed the smell of gasoline. If you feel like it's not a big deal, fine, but trust me, those who talk about it being a very strong smell in that area are not exaggerating.

I used to pump gas as a job when I was a teenager. I'm sure that there is a gas smell, actually more of an exhaust smell, but, frankly the degree of it is something that doesn't even consciously enter my brain. It is nothing to me. I will admit that I have a high tolerance for a lot of things that were just part of life when I was a kid, I cannot help but feel that even if it is there, it really isn't bad enough for anyone to care about. My opinion, yes, but, it's just as valid as anyone elses opinion.
