I see it mentioned as a ride for a child's tomorrow, but lately it's pretty evident that today's kids could very easily NOT be driving their own cars. We actually are in a time where autonomous driving is becoming a reality. Tomorrow is becoming now, rapidly.

And just look at how he operated the park in those 11 years. And other aspects of his life and company for that matter.

Sure. He operated the parks very well. He didn't build things just to tear them down. Only when something didn't work. And the Speedway works fine! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Just look at the Carousel of Progress when it was at Disneyland. They replace it with America Sings, then the unneeded Innovations, and then the totally disastrous Star Wars Launch Bay filled with fake props, a place to play video games, and a few character meet and greets. (Iger retire now, before you do any more damage). And the list goes on and on and on.

OK, so what he basically did was get all excited about Disneyland and within a few years redirected his energy toward the Experimental Prototype City/Community (Depending on where you see it) Of Tomorrow. And although mildly interested left the day to day operation of that to staff and went off in a different direction and, like stated, really wasn't around long enough to really know what he would have done if he perceived there to be a problem with the parks. Quite frankly, he pulled an Iger and because Disneyland was making a fortune at the time, directed his attention to something else. Iger to IP's and Walt to EPCOT. He might not have done anything at all or even cared what happened to the parks. We really don't know and he didn't leave a note to tell us either. He did ask Roy to continue with EPCOT, but, of course, he didn't.

That leads me to the next thing. The comments that it wouldn't happen if Walt and Roy were still in charge. Make no mistake about this, as long as Walt was alive, Roy was never in charge. But, I will gladly give Roy credit for the fact that without him WDW would never have been built, but, he really didn't stay around long enough to see what, if anything, he might have done.

EPCOT did not celebrate the automobile, it was a reaction against the automobile.

This is a classic slave to purely numbers mentality, that left unchecked, will ultimately end up destroying Walt and Roy's incredible vision.
The same Walt who pushed for attractions that weren't just for kids, but those that kids and adults could enjoy together? The Speedway is an archaic relic of 1970s amusement parks. At the very least it needs to be brought into the 21st century.

What if a company like Tesla or Google who are working on self driving vehicles sponsored an updated speedway with electric cars. When you get in your vehicle you get the choice to go to different destinations and the car takes you. It would be a vehicle like Test Track with guests sitting in the front and back. Add a lot of cool futuristic scenery. Then during the center of the track you enter a building with all kinds of great fx and scenes with lots of cool stuff like robots. Think of it as the People Mover meets Test Track. In its current state the tomorrowland Speedway isn't very tomorrow-ish.

Sorry, I don't have a clue what you are referring too!
"Here the pedestrian will be king, free to walk and browse without fear of motorized vehicles. Only electric powered vehicles will travel above the streets of E.P.C.O.T's central city."

The design of EPCOT intentionally sought to minimize the role of the automobile. Vehicles were pushed below so that the form of the city would be one shaped by the pedestrian. The whole city layout is one that predates the widespread adoption of the car.

Mineral King also pushed automobiles to the periphery due to environment and experiential concerns.

Then it would be a great fit for Epcot.

IF they ever did decide to build Tron at MK, could this land be used for it? If they built it like Shanghai's imagine that architecture next to Space Mountain's awesome architecture! Just build a bridge over the railroad tracks and it would easily connect right into Tomorrowland.

OK, so what did that have to do with my post. I never mentioned any vehicles whatsoever. I don't understand the response or where it fit in with my post. Please clarify.
