Pumbas Nakasak
Heading for the great escape.
Rename it the pop coaster and Bon Jovi would be ideal, though to be fair how many 40 something women ride coasters, so that cuts 90% of their fan base
I am a huge Rush fan as well. Just saw the Clockwork Angels show in Boston. It was awesome. I do not think it gives me any special insight on morons though. Hopefully you were not implying that I am one as I am sure I could prove otherwise. I think Rush fans can laugh at themselves pretty well. After all the concerts are sometimes referred to as "Sausage fests"Go easy Captain-Kidd........letting people get to you about music is absurd. I'm a huge RUSH fan and no band gets bashed more than RUSH so I've had plenty of experience in dealing with morons/
Don't start injecting logic into this wonderful dorkathon debate.Rename it the pop coaster and Bon Jovi would be ideal, though to be fair how many 40 something women ride coasters, so that cuts 90% of their fan base
Good thing there is no planned change.Don't get trapped thinking inside the box... think like a Disney CEO... Hmm... What about "Shake it up" coaster to tie in with our Disney Channel quasi-entertainment... Or god forbid they turn it into some rapper coaster.... In the end I fear any change will not be driven by artistic need but by corporate greed... It could easily become the Jonas Brother's coaster.

I don't get the RUSH hate. Its just fun music. If people want to bash a rock group, go after one that deserves it. Go after Nickleback.

I am 47 and love Classic rock. I even like some Bon Jovi. I also think some of their newer stuff is better than the "hits". They have matured well. Sambora is a fun guitarist, very skilled. Not Lifeson level however. I just do not think they are a good fit for the coaster. Rush would be a better fit IMHO but even they would not be considered if Aerosmith was removed.
Remember the word fan is just short for fanatic. It is great to be fanatical about the bands we love just like the theme parks we love.

. Have been a fan since 1974 when I saw them in Canada with John Rutsey on the skins.Got my ticket for the Scottish show in May 30th.When Alex plays La Villa it still sends shivers down my spine. So having being on the Rush roller coaster for 38 years,it's been one helluva ride.I am a huge Rush fan as well. Thats an interesting comparison and says they are still willing to promote their recent work - more faith in the recent work.
But here's another list when talking about relevance.. if you look at Aerosmith (as another example since they are the act in place..) they rebooted themselves with pop relevance. The Run DMC collaboration in the 80s.. and then movie soundtracks in the 90s.
So if we look at Bon Jovi in film/TV... we see all of their presence is dominated by a mere handful of songs

Blaze of Glory was monster for JBV... it helped bring him back to the front. To get that 'front of the crowd' attention, they need something that will cross-over demographics and get them outside their traditional fan base. Where is that for Bon Jovi?
Look at what a simple plug by Glee did for Journey? Bon Jovi has been featured there too but didn't have that same spark.
Honestly beyond 'wanted..' and probably 'its my life..' I doubt I'd hear much sing-along at the bar/party
^^^^ Way too much to read.
I don't get the Nickleback hate either. They are very popular. My wife and daughters love them. I enjoy some of their songs as well. They are a bit one dimensional though, not a lot of depth.I don't get the RUSH hate. Its just fun music. If people want to bash a rock group, go after one that deserves it. Go after Nickleback.
