I hope they remove the Eiffel Tower from its current position, finish it by building its base/lower half, and mount it on the ground in the new plaza area they're creating. They could maintain its height and sightlines from around World Showcase while solving the sightline problem from the gondolas and new area. It would still be a miniature version compared to the original when viewed from the ground directly beside it, but so are the Matterhorn and Everest.

Agreed. Relocating the Eiffel Tower and building up the building facade could solve the siteline problem for very short money.

Poor morocco... its way more obvious in person. Alas my cell phone from across the lagoon cant convey the trees vs structure well. But morocco is in the shadow of this monster...

Universal has a lot more rides with height requirements...

My 8 year old nephew on the Test Track pre-show (Which I have described as feeling VERY EPCOT Center-ish), "I like it because it's interactive and doesn't feel educational". Entertainment should be the priority with a secondary educational component. It's felt like in the last 20+ years they've struggled to find that balance. It's typically either/or.

It's fairly clear that the piecemeal approach to Epcot isn't working, yet they're continuing it (at least on the "small" scale w/Ratatouille and Guardians). The park desperately needs a cohesive theme regardless of how they get there. They can continue with the piecemeal approach as long as it's moving towards something cohesive. The problem is, it isn't.

The indecision around the park's future leads me to believe that they have no idea how to fix it, so they're just going to continue to throw good money after bad. Yes, it's good that they're spending money in that park but it will continue to be directionless and will continue to feel disjointed.

When a park's theme is questioned I like to look at the dedication plaque. It's not a perfect solution, but it's a call for direction:

Epcot

To all who come to this Place of Joy, Hope and Friendship

Welcome

Epcot is inspired by Walt Disney's creative vision. Here, human achievements are celebrated through imagination, wonders of enterprise and concepts of a future that promises new and exciting benefits for all.

May EPCOT Center entertain, inform and inspire and above all, may it instill a new sense of belief and pride in man's ability to shape a world that offers hope to people everywhere.

I encourage people to read this article I wrote in 2016 that offers one possible "fix" for Epcot: https://micechat.com/148461-fixing-epcot/
Seems like “The indecision around the park's future leads me to believe that they have no idea how to fix it, so they're just going to continue to throw good money after bad.“ this assertion is flatly incorrect and the reason why people are unwilling to accept the new direction of the park that’s explicitly presented to the public. Epcot and other Disney theme parks are obviously moving away from the grand mission statements. They are unsustainable.

What’s sustainable is Disney IP and any IP it can buy. That’s the happy future.

Epcot is making the transition even if slow and directionless in appearance on the outside. They only have so many billions to spend at any one time. So be patient.

Its so close to the paths... inwouldbt be shocked if it all gets morocco themed
Metal wall systems are not conducive to much more than simple, applied ornaments. So even if something is later added it will still be a giant box. There are a number of egress points on these sides of the building, including a large stair tower on the side opposite the entrance, that complicate building out future facades.

Not happy. Inevitable.

Every park will be a Magic Kingdom.

I'm not sure that calling ip-filled parks akin to the Magic Kingdom is really fair to the Magic Kingdom's original vision. There has been (and still is) a lot of original stuff, historical stuff, and progressive stuff in that park. No, what Disney is transforming all their parks into is Universal Studios.

Even with the new IP additions, Epcot still has the least IP as a percentage of attractions for all the other Parks, right? I think that just reinforces that you are right. Epcot is too much of an exception to keep as is.

this one I felt you had to actually look for when you were walking by it... My kids and wife did not even notice it until I pointed it out. So hopefully it stays this well hidden.
