Should I have any hope they are going to theme the northeast exterior of the Rat showbuilding to a Moroccon kasbah, adding a layer of visual depth & interest to that pavilion? Something tells me berm & trees aren't going to conceal that thing well enough.

Me, in grade 10 math: Sir, when am I ever going to use this?

Answer - see above ^^

That was just straightedge geometry.

This was math...

Going to Google Earth Pro, I measure the radius of Dumbo to be 26'. That puts the circumference at 163.36'.

Going to YouTube videos, I measure that a Dumbo vehicle makes a revolution in 13 secs. So, that's 12.566'/sec.

That's 8.6 mph / 13.8 kph.

A year ago I would have had the same worry about shielding views from within the park but after seeing the landscape and screening job WDI has done on Toy Story Land and the dividing berm between Galaxy’s Edge and TSL, I’m less nervous about it. I could see them doing some facade work near the top most sections but leaving the bottom Go Away Green and just using the enhanced berm to soften/hide it as Marni referred to.

My main source of intrigue on this is how are you going to attract people back there - I get that it’s an attraction, but the walk is going to feel extremely dead and quiet around the pavilion to the back. They have to engage/activate the path back there somehow.

I'd suspect a large/themed sign right at the start of that path will be sufficient...

It's quite a haul to Soarin', and people have no trouble getting to it. :)

Hah All good points but what I mean is how do you fill in the dead space between the sign and the actual queue entry. There’s a lot of space going back there. It’s been ages, but aren’t there new restrooms and maybe a small food kiosk going in as well?

@MisterPenguin, are you from New York City? Oh wait, my internet research shows that this is actually a national phenomenon. And here I thought it was unique to NYC because it's the only place where I walk by them on a regular basis.

There were some mystery buildings in the concept art, but it also seems like a nice area to slow down and relax. Uh oh, am I getting old?

It's effectively an expansion for the entire pavillion. The walk around the back and towards rat will be themed towards Paris, just like the rest of the pavillion. Included traditional Parisian stroller parking.

Theme will be handled probably by making it look like a Parisian alley with added speakers to carry the Pavilion music loop as well. Probably similar (hopefully better) to how they handled the Main Street East Bypass, but without all of the CM cross walk entries.

Now that I can really see how the skyliner is coming down to the IG from behind the pavilion it really looks like a challenge to integrate the Eiffel Tower. I am not sure how the imagineers can fix that view from the skyliner.

In-park today, Ratatouille is a huge building, but funnily enough the closer you are the less you see. From the opposite side of the lagoon it towers over France and Morocco (not the moccan tower, just the lower bits) but when at ground level even in the UK or Japan you can't see anything. Getting closer cuts you off even more until you can only see it by peering through thick trees. It's kinda odd, but I can't wait for it.

There's a scientific explanation for that effect...
