Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the highest level of Disney Sea's Soaring show building employs a flat backdrop in a similar way. And from the non-stop articles and post I see praising the building, I'd venture to say it was convincing. Let me try and find an image.

The portion I am talking about is circled. Obviously, the tower-esque portions that jut out significantly wouldn't be used, but I believe insiders confirmed that these wouldn't be flat paintings, but with details like shutters and bricks like these have.

Portofino and Mira Costa both use tromp l'oeil which is a deliberate style choice designed to give the impression of depth. Having said that, I don't like it.

Having done the Paris version of this, it's a hard meh. While kind of cute, anyone who is against screens at all will find problems with this clone. Paris suffers from a lack of compelling attractions. Orlando (overall) does not. I'm very interested to see how this plays where there are far better things very nearby let alone at the competition...

I'm more annoyed at how long this is taking than anything else.

why, WHY? Why does it take Disney so long to build one ride????????

Sorry. :)
