I would compare Rat to TSM, a D. I think Rat is more ambitious. Just me though.
I could see that but it’s a slightly more finished attraction that TSM

Pshhh, what do you know, you're just some anonymous person. It’s costing far more than Everest to build.
Not going to wade into this whole how would you know and sources conversation. I will take your info at face value due to track record. My question is simple (the answer is probably complex). Why are rides costing so much more to build? Where is this money going? Overpriced contractors...budget blind Imagineers...?? What has bumped costs so much? It’s costing far more than Everest to build.

Yes there is a common theme here in play. Something fishy is happening. No way Rat or Gardians should cost more than EE. That rock work alone should be more than enough to build either attraction.
GotG is heading to the single most expensive attraction in WDW.I think GOTG could easily overtake EE cost just on the electronics that they're talking about inside the gravity.. err... big ugly blue behemoth box.

Even before the overruns.
Everybody knows concrete and steel are the same thing. It’s just lying architects who say differently to sound smart.Source? None? Have you seen the construction documents for each build? Is there no site work to be done at WDW? Are they building a courtyard? Does Central Florida have the same water table as Marne La Valle?

Maybe, but they’re in gear now. There’s no denying that.
That turns my expectations from "This'll be a nicely updated Rock N Roller Coaster or TRON" to "This better have Rise of the Resistance and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey-level immersion".GotG is heading to the single most expensive attraction in WDW.

I can't imagine enjoying Guardians more than RotR. It'll be a fun coaster. But, the cost is outrageous. Could it settle at $300 million? $350 million? $400 million? The sky is the limit for WDI. Perhaps that's why the building is sky-blue.That turns my expectations from "This'll be a nicely updated Rock N Roller Coaster or TRON" to "This better have Rise of the Resistance and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey-level immersion".
Though my suspicion is that's unreasonable to expect from this attraction . . . ?
Seriously - the idea of this thing costing more than ROTR is hideous. Especially since the media rampage of the last 24 hours does nothing if not claim that ROTR is the biggest ride they’ve ever done. How on EARTH (Or Xandar) could they let Guardians cost more?I can't imagine enjoying Guardians more than RotR. It'll be a fun coaster. But, the cost is outrageous. And I will ask again...How?? Why?? Where does this money go if everyone in the know always says that rides are not as good or long because they went over budget and the money ran out? If the overspending isn't going into the actual ride itself where is it going? Bonuses, trips, parties, sugar babies???I can't imagine enjoying Guardians more than RotR. It'll be a fun coaster. That’s a question no one seems to know the answer to. Yes, it’s over budget. But even coming in on budget it’s an outrageous amount.Seriously - the idea of this thing costing more than ROTR is hideous. It goes into a giant and broken decision making process that is both vague and very specific. And I will ask again...How?? Why?? If the overspending isn't going into the actual ride itself where is it going? Bonuses, trips, parties, sugar babies???

But it’s a roller coaster! What in the good Lord’s name will we be seeing that is hundreds of millions of dollars? It boggles my mind. That’s a question no one seems to know the answer to. Yes, it’s over budget. But even coming in on budget it’s an outrageous amount.
I’m the first to say (and have done already) it’s an outrageous amount that doesn’t add up. Given the work required for the two projects I’d assume Tron would be the higher figure.Doesn't make any sense, does it? Defies common sense. Nice to see people finally questioning rather than simply assuming.....
