News Reimagined Toontown coming

The tornado room seems like a missed opportunity. I feel like the vehicles should spin around the tornado and their could be more projections/ effects there.
Don't you literally just crawl by a big plastic-looking tornado off to the side? It doesn't feel like you're actually caught in it or in any danger.

If you're not fully engaged with what is visually happening in front of you, it's easy to look around and recognize that you are basically just in a giant empty "box" of a room with some flat props that things are projected onto. So from that perspective, it would be nice if there was a bit more scenery decoration.

It would be awesome if the cars could tip forward, but the effect is believable enough (to me anyways) as is. Also not even sure how that would work with the flat LPS system.

Yeah some of that bareness comes through over video.

They did some pretty crazy things with the trackless vehicles for ROTR so I imagine they could but it probably wouldn’t be worth the cost.

I’d be excited for it come to DL even without any of the enhancements. With that said, on video at least, it feels like there is some room for improvement. Being that you have actually been on it what do you think they could improve upon?

For me, some of the rooms feel kind of bare like the rodeo scene. The tornado room seems like a missed opportunity. I feel like the vehicles should spin around the tornado and their could be more projections/ effects there. I’d like to see the vehicle tip forward for the waterfall scene. I also feel like the Daisy room is a momentum killer but I also understand that it may be one of the more fun rooms due to the movement.

With all of that said, some of the scenes look fantastic even on video - like the nighttime park scene and my favorite, the big city scene.
Yes, the tornado room could use some improvement, and I was one that didn't think dance lessons with Daisy was as excellent as most. BUT as a whole, it's just plain FUN and full of detail that is takes multiple times to see it all. The carnival room is a blast. The volcano/waterfall section is smooth and thrilling, and the trip down the drain to the factory climax is great. Think living a classic new Mickey cartoon and throw in a lot of dark ride elements. The preshow is perfect, and the queue charming.

Let me put it another way- it is my new must-do on every Disney trip.

Okay, but I am still stuck on the new lawn thing. They have shown that they don't maintain anything and have no interest in maintaining anything, how the heck are they going to maintain a lawn guests are going to be ON all the time?

From what I understand guests walking into Toontown will be asked to remove their shoes like when you walk into a Persian household.

On Facebook, David Koenig just posted a shot of the wait time for Gadget's Go Coaster:

As you can see, people are apparently paying their respects to this ride before it is shut down next week.. His words indicate that the ride would be gone for good. I thought, as per the concept art, that the ride itself was remaining, although it's unclear if the theme will remain the same.

In the comments, too, people claim that Donald's Boat is also being scrapped, but again, I thought it was being retained. Or have plans changed from the original concept art (which admittedly happens all the time)?

They are probably redoing the ride to fit
heavier people/children.

It was my understanding that the coaster was staying, but possibly being reskinned or rethemed. They did list Mickey and Minnie's house staying, but I believe Donald's and Goofy's were unmentioned leading me to believe that these two would be greatly altered or replaced. It does make sense as both houses have been greatly impacted by liability lawyers with the Bounce House being the first to get the axe and now both existing in a reduced state.

And the vehicle tipping forward during the waterfall scene would be cool among other things.

This is my biggest complaint with Remys Rat adventure also, we rode it first in Paris and I was really hoping they’d add a little movement to make it match what you see on screen when they built it in Epcot, unfortunately they didn’t.

But the artwork clearly shows both Donald and Goofy's homes, which leads me to believe they will remain. In what capacity, I don't know, but I thought the physical forms of the homes themselves would remain at least.

In my opinion, it would be cool if Goofy's house were repurposed as the interactive experience it is in Tokyo, but that's probably a long shot.

It seems like a fairly easy thing to repurpose Goofy's house for the Tokyo projections. That project couldn't cost more than 30K to do. That is nothing compared to everything else that is going on.

true, but come Summer with higher attendance, that may change

Toontown will still be closed this summer. Are you trying to say the impact will be felt more this summer with Toontown closed? Summer has been the slowest time of year the last few years. With that said, times are different now with reservations and as long as pass holders aren’t blacked out that could change.

Summer was slow in the past because of massive AP blockouts. Last summer, no one had an AP and everyone had to buy a day ticket, which undoubtedly kept things somewhat more controlled.

This summer, with Magic Keys now a thing, is on some level uncharted territory. While I haven't kept up with the Magic Keys chatter, it's still a new and different situation if only because the pass situation is different. And the return of several long-missing, iconic pieces of entertainment will likely contribute to larger crowds.

I should be back in July for the first time since 2018, and even though I've primarily visited in July in the past, I have no illusion that past experiences will necessarily mean anything this time around.

RE: Toontown, I don't think Toontown being closed will affect ride lines all that much but it may choke the walkways a bit more than normal.
