Regrets from last trip

Make sure, if you are purchasing your park passes separate from your room, that you have enough days on them for all the days you intend to be at the park.

Really.

There is nothing more heart breaking than walking up to the turn styles of the MK on the last morning of your trip, and finding that you have no more days on your passes. It still makes me sad thinking about it, in retrospect, even though we did buy tickets at the gate, and we got in to spend the last day there.

I also regret not spending as much time just enjoying the atmosphere. We got so caught up in running from ride to ride, attraction to attraction, that we didn't sit and enjoy it too often. You're on vacation - take a few minutes each day to enjoy it :)

Grab an ice cream, or a churro, or whatever sort of snack you like - and grab a seat, and just soak in the fact that you are in WDW.

What's a churro?

It's a fried pastry item, which is sort of twisty dough that is hollow, and covered in cinnamon-sugar. It's crispy and crunchy on the outside, but soft and gooey on the inside. Served warm, occasionally with chocolate sauce, but I like them plain.

I like getting them from the cart in Frontierland, sort of near Liberty Square.

In my 10 trips to Disney I have never seen the enchanged tiki room (original or under new management). This past trip in January we planned on finally seeing the show, the first day we spent at MK we decided to skip it and do it the following day. When we walked over there the next day, it was closed (that was the day of the fire). So I regret not doing it the first day we were there that trip. We are going back in March and it's on the top of my "to do" list.

I wasn't feeling very good on my last trip, and we ended up leaving a day early. My son was very disappointed at missing that last day, which was going to be at the Magic Kingdom. So I regret missing the things we would have done that day:

Breakfast at Crystal Palace (even though we have done this before, and had supper there already on this trip).

Having my son made up like a Pirate. On our other Magic Kingdom day, he wanted to do that, and we were going to do it on our 2nd MK day, which we missed.

Seeing the Electric Light Parade.

Having breakfast at Kona Cafe the next morning after checking out.

Seeing Fantasmic! We decided to go back to the hotel early so my son could have some pool time that evening (since we'd been going non-stop every other day). It's at the top of my to-do list for our January trip, but unfortunately it's only showing on 2 of the nights we're there!

Not booking our next trip!

This one. We had a bounce back offer that we should have booked. We could always cancel later if need be. I don't know yet when we are going back so I didn't book then. Now wish I would have to get the free dining offer then make any changes if need be.

I hope you didn't buy at full price for a one-day ticket? If you did, for future reference you can add days to your MYW tickets within 14 days of first use for just a few dollars a day after the first three or four days.

Last September (hurts to know its been a year away from the world :( ) We did this HUGE family vacation. My wife, being to all the parks for the first time except for magic kingdom, had a blast. However, we did not get a chance to do a lot of stuff. Figment, Test Track, Innovations, Swiss family tree house, Carrousel of progress, me and my brother did the people mover, she didnt. Backlot tour, star tours (it was being refurbished), stunt show, indiana jones........

Geez.......we missed a lot of stuff.

Good excuse to go back :ROFLOL:

Good thing we are moving to Dr Phillips in a few short months, and getting annual passes. We can hit everything then! With no rush!

Only thing I regret is not getting a MNSSHP Pin when we were there for the party. I was dumb and thought I could get a pin later when I usually purchase pins from DTD. :brick:

Everything else I can do when I return.

Biggest thing I regret...COMING HOME!

But on my "to do" list for next trip that I missed in May 2011:

Go to Tom Sawyers Island - to get a paint brush or not. My fiance has been wanting to do this the past few trips and I always brush it off because I see it as a waste of time. Now I feel bad we never got around to it.

Waiting to see the "cowboy" scene in GMR. My fiance has never seen this (didnt even know there was another scene!) so I'd love him to see it. I asked but they said it'd be like a 10 minute wait and I didn't want to hold my crew up.

Hunting down more characters. I always have intentions of being at DHS in the evening when random characters meet in Art of Animation (at like 5:00 I think...) but never got around to it. Never waited in long lines to meet any characters. I'm no character hunter by any means but I wished we had more character interaction.

Eat a caramel brownie in Germany. I made numerous visits to the shop but this little beauty never came home w/me. It's on my 'must eat' list.

Also on the 'must eat' list is a citrus swirl from Aloha Isle. I don't really like the dole whip float (blasphemy, I know) so I was looking forward to trying something new.

My biggest food regret - not eating at Caseys corner. I love those corn dog nuggets! But we only ate counter service once in MK and Columbia Harbor House was a great choice and I loved it - but I miss my Caseys.

Go to another resort for breakfast - even if its just counter service. I really want to explore other resorts and some specialty breakfast items they serve (beignets, tonga toast, etc...)

hmmm thats all I can think of for now. I'm always making "must do/must eat" lists for next trip. There just aren't enough hours in a day at Disney.

 We did. It was the last day of our honeymoon, and I had a bit of a melt down when we were turned away. I honestly wasn't thinking straight (I was in tears), and my DH didn't know you could do that. So we ended up buying two tickets at full price. So yeah... count how many days you have. Don't do what we did.

Also - typically we don't have regrets of missing attractions - we end up with "things to do next time" :) And use it as an excuse to go back again.

Ouch! Yeah, some lessons learned can be expensive ones...

So for everybody: You can add days [up to a maximum of ten] to an unused, partially or completely used MYW ticket at any time during the first 14 days after first use [well, the unused one any time... :lookaroun].

biggest regret was not going out to the parking lot to check on my car...someone who can afford a stay at the poly should be man enough to leave their insurance info when they crunch up the back of your car. the parking paper they give us for the windows have our names on it...it would have been simple to let the front desk know OR for one of the security people to notice all the bits and pieces laying on the ground around my car to say hhhmmmm...maybe we should let the guest know there's a problem.
