My question is what will become the “festival” food for the pavilion when bbq is permanent. One of the best parts of f&w and f&g is seeing how many ways they can serve pork & beef. Not counting the year they had the maple bacon cupcake.
Sadly. many non-American visitors to WDW are perplexed by the various BBQ offerings on offer as we simply don't understand why anyone would soak decent meat in sugar.Plus BBQ, would show foreign visitors that American cuisine is more than burgers and nuggets.
Sugar? You must be eating the trash kind of BBQ.Sadly. many non-American visitors to WDW are perplexed by the various BBQ offerings on offer as we simply don't understand why anyone would soak decent meat in sugar.

[/QUOTE Anything BBQ at Disney (From Flame Tree etc,) just tastes to a European palette as if somebody poured 1lb of sugar over it, or sat it in a vat of cola for 24 hours.
That's probably the barbecue sauce that is sweet.Sadly. many non-American visitors to WDW are perplexed by the various BBQ offerings on offer as we simply don't understand why anyone would soak decent meat in sugar.

I guess the real question is - will it be better than what is there now?Everyone arguing who's BBQ is best is funny, it's smoked meat it's nothing special. This is going to be simple to appeal to everyone, smoked meat and a load of sauces with high fructose corn syrup (you guys love that crap). I am not sure why anyone thinks it's going to be amazing when every other Disney run QS restaurant in the park isn't.

I don’t see how this is not going to be a win in that respect.
Are Americans routinely shoving sugar-laden smoked meats into your mouth against your will while visiting the good ol' U S of A?Sadly. many non-American visitors to WDW are perplexed by the various BBQ offerings on offer as we simply don't understand why anyone would soak decent meat in sugar.

BBQ excepted, the words dry and rub should rarely, if ever, be used in sequential order. My favorite BBQ are those that use dry rubs rather than sauce anyways...although, I imagine rubs also include sugar.
