I'm 100% on board with a BBQ place, but I also think they can make this all of the regional foods around the country. Add in Maryland Crabcakes, different types of pizza, New England and Manhattan clam chowder, etc.

First, with the exception of once while "eating around the world," I never went in the Liberty Inn. We like to try food from the other countries, so now when we "eat around the world," we skip the American Pavilion. I would try a BBQ restaurant. Plus BBQ, would show foreign visitors that American cuisine is more than burgers and nuggets.

Second, no pizza. Please no more Disney pizza. They just do not do pizza well. Besides, the Italian Pavilion has pizza if you really "need" pizza.

Third, I agree somewhere a regional seafood restaurant would be terrific. I am thinking: Shrimp Etouffee, Maryland Crabcakes, Florida Conch Fritters, Hawaiian Poke, Maine Lobster Roll. Perhaps, the Coral Reef's menu could be redone to fill this need.

Im actually pretty amazed at some of the beer that WDW has...Considering the Coke sponsorship, Im really amazed AB or Miller-Coors hasn't bought the exclusive beer rights for the parks. Last time I was there, Cigar City, Tampa Bay Brewing, MIA and a few from other states.
Would love some other options at MK, while I really enjoy Cigar City brews, i'd enjoy some other options that Epcot has.

Good idea, but one note - general rule is to never get Maryland crab cakes outside of Maryland. They do not taste like Maryland crab cakes at all. I think that might be the case with many other things as well (although most have tasted some great regional BBQ outside of the area it is famous for when done right)

Also, again love the idea, but to do that would require too many things for the restaurant to have available. The larger array of items a restaurant tends to have, the "worse" each offering tends to be. They can't be fresh, because they can't have everything fresh as it won't be sold each day...unless it becomes more artificial (with flavors).

I think the same about the idea of BBQ from all over. While it's a great idea to be able to have all the BBQ from all over (who each claim it is the best), it is hard in execution IMO -- too many different styles and flavors to have on hand, especially for a quick service, too much would go bad or go to waste. Moreover, having just one of them could be bad, because so many claim that theirs is the best, when they find out it is not Texas BBQ, or Memphis BBQ, or... they are put off.

But still excited about this offering. I just think we will hear a lot of people complain about it (which is always the case anyways).

Another good rule -- never order a "po-boy" sandwich out of the New Orleans area. Hoagy buns do not a po-boy make.

I've been in Liberty Inn plenty of times -- as a shortcut to the restroom.

Everyone arguing who's BBQ is best is funny, it's smoked meat it's nothing special. This is going to be simple to appeal to everyone, smoked meat and a load of sauces with high fructose corn syrup (you guys love that crap). I am not sure why anyone thinks it's going to be amazing when every other Disney run QS restaurant in the park isn't.

There was a restaurant decades again Las Vegas at the New York New York casino that was a road trip across america...food from different regions... Why they have never done this as a concept for the America pavilion baffles me... they have celebrity chefs involved at Disney Springs that represent most of the regions...put them together into a single sit-down restaurant experience with regional cocktails...Make the restaurant upper casual...but not counter service...Have a really wonderful lounge area...craft beer and cocktails.... and do all of this separate from the quick serve restaurant they are currently doing... Japan now has 4 restaurants and we have only a crappy quick serve to represent all of the United States?

They still have it, is called America and it is delicious.

I do remember having a great meal there... and yeah! so it is a proven hit of a concept... why can't Disney figure this out?
It's a great opportunity which they have not given a lot of thought. An 'America' restaurant would be a hit with both locals and international travelers. Imagine a place where you can get good brisket on rye, fried calamari, pizza (Chicago or NY style), cheesesteaks, Tex-mex burrito, chicken and waffles... Total hit.

The same could be said for any kind of New England seafood...most restaurants up here buy fresh off the boat...in order to make it to other regions, it has to be frozen, and trust me, fish loses a lot in the freezing process.

Construction walls were up yesterday.

It's a sizable part of AA's land, not just inside the building

Also of note, the other side of the AA pavilion, the bathroom bit, was also under heavy construction walls. I assume some of it is for F&W, but it's all the way back through the bathrooms, making them inaccessible

The entire area is currently undergoing a hardscape replacement project. This is why the walls are up on the west side near he restrooms and why the walls extended so far out on the east side in front of Liberty Inn.
