Reflections of Earth in final year?

I have just read a rumour at West Coaster that Reflections of Earth will be replaced in 2007 with a new show. Does anyone know anything about this or is it just a rumour?

Thanks, and Happy New Year!

Quote: We now move on to Epcot... no bush... no song girls... no song girls bush... but a sad memory of the fire barge... unfortunately, the fire barge commited suicide earlier this year during show prep. It's still not returned to Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. We were told by a pyro tech that works on Wishes at the Magic Kingdom that they don't expect to repair it due to the fact that Epcot is due to get a new show in 2007.

I hope the rumor is true, but we'll have to wait and see. I know ROE has it's fair share of fans, but I've never been one of them.

My family and I have always enjoyed RoE, but I feel it has run its course and it is time for a new way to end my day at Epcot.

I love ROE. But I also know that nightime shows and parades usually last around 5 years before they are changed into something new so I wouldn't be surprised.

I guess you're right... it has been running for a few years now. We always loved the show as it evokes such powerful emotion. I only hope the replacement lives up to the standard set.

ROE used to be my favorite firework show.. but with the inferno barge missing and also because of how impressive Wishes is.. ROE now looks very dated. I love the music and theme though.. I really hope they use part of the ROE theme/show in whatever new firework show they put in Epcot. I'll be sad to see it go, but it does need updating.. it is toally outshined by wishes right now. Also.. the epcot speaker system needs updating.. its not LOUD enough at all.

Despite the need for change, I'll still be extremely sad when ROE has fully run its course. :(

You wouldn't be alone. And I can certainly feel you guys when that day comes too.

I have always enjoyed ROE, but will not be sad if they replace it. ROE is a great show but Disney has been improving on their fireworks shows. I can only see something even better than ROE for Epcot, especially with the 25th anniversary coming up.

I really hope they don't replace it. I think it still has such great longevity. However, I wouldn't mind some updates. It is hands down the best show Disney has done, IMHO, and it fits exceptionally well in Epcot. I do agree some new effects have come along and the inferno barge is a necessary part. Therefore, to use the amazing score and add new effects and what not (somewhat like they did for AA's ending film) would be a great way IMHO.

Maybe the inferno barge exploding had something to do with the idea of a new show coming in 2007?

The inferno barge will be back, see the other thread. Sometime between February and April, depending on who's timetable you believe.

Thanks

Okay, Time to Shoot this one Down.

There is a new show rumored at the moment but ROE is supposed to run until 2009.

Thanks for the info Dave. Well I can't wait until 2009 then

that rumor is faulty...all indications are that they are currently working on the inferno barge...the 2007 rumor is pretty old (and obvious). Epcot turns 25 in 2007, so it'd be a no-brainer rumor, but I haven't heard anything about a celebration around that milestone, yet...hopefully they won't do a cheap remake of the Epcot Wand and put a 25 on it.......

Yep... I asked the captain we had on our Illuminations Cruise... and he said the Earliest could be as early as Late JAN.... to the latest of March-ish.
