Quote: We now move on to Epcot... no bush... no song girls... no song girls bush... but a sad memory of the fire barge... unfortunately, the fire barge commited suicide earlier this year during show prep. It's still not returned to Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. We were told by a pyro tech that works on Wishes at the Magic Kingdom that they don't expect to repair it due to the fact that Epcot is due to get a new show in 2007.

This is just plain wrong.

True!

While I have no evidence of this myself, i would say this is very true. The fact that the Inferno Barge Exploded while they were testing a new effect kinda backs this up.

Also as has been pointed out ROE has been running since 2000 so its about time for a new look show. I hope the new show rocks just as much as ROE.

Look at the new technology Disney is using with fireworks (Wishes and Remember) and i think we can all say this is not a bad thing.

actually i have heard more than a few rumblings about the Epcot 25th celebration and that it will be a rather large one... sort of a continuation of the HCOE. I would expect a new fireworks show... possibly more.
A lot of it will also be plussed if Matt ends up getting his wish and taking over WDW. after what he managed to do at DLR in a short time... i would have much hope for the Epcot 25th at that time...

Well...it's not...the inferno barge will be back in action very soon.

I'm crossing my fingers for everything about this to come to fruition.

Once again, multiple people (including myself) have multiple sources that have said repeatedly that the inferno barge will be back, tenetaivly somewhere betgween February and April.

Okay, Time to Shoot this one Down.

There is a new show rumored at the moment but ROE is supposed to run until 2009.
Yeah this one is probably false...this rumor probably does stem from the fact that Seimens did take on the sponsorship for Illuminations, which to a lot of people means that changes will be made, but we've already been told the inferno barge is on its way back to the show, so that kindof hurts the validity of that statement. I too have also heard 2009, but we all know how things change, and with Disney, its not true until you see it. :)

just cause the inferno barge is coming back does not mean that somthing is not being planned for the 25th.

Okay, i suggest you stop speculating or give some sort of evidence as to why you say you think this.

Well, remember EPCOT adds finales to Illuminations all the time. While I can't see an entirely new show, I can definitely see an extended and spectacular finale. :)

I hope so. IllumiNations has the best soundtrack I've ever heard, and I sure hope they keep it for a while. If they do put a new show, I hope they use the same soundtrack.

You'll be hard pressed to find a bigger RoE fan than me, but I wouldn't mind seeing a new show, as long as it's as good as or even better than RoE.

I think ROE is a very good show, but if they came out with a new one, I am sure they would have the latest and greatest effects. The could probably add some of the awesome Wishes effects.

The fact that the inferno barge is coming back doesn't sway the argument in anyone's favor. While the barge is obviously a staple of the current show, there is a good chance it would be included in future shows as well given the fact that it is unique to EPCOT and it's 360 degree viewing area.

There will be changes down the road, now if that means scraping the ROE name and score, or just an overhaul I do not know, but you do have to remember, they have to try and keep the shows fresh for the guests who have been to WDW before.

Speculation

TAC said:
If you have no evidence, then how can you be so sure? Oh, you can't. So it's pure speculation on your part.

Just because something happens to a show element does not mean that the entire show will be replaced because of that show element.

I know its just speculation, thats why I said I have no evidence, I was just saying, something new must be coming eventually, hence the Story that the Barge exploded while testing a new effect, thats what was stated here and in other sites, if there testing a new effect im pretty sure that something is being added/changing soon.

Also I know its due to come back, which also add's to my point, if they were testing a new effect using the Inferno Barge, then they would want to get the barge fixed to incorporate the new effect, either in the current version of ROE or the rumored new Version.

I think you've misunderstood my point.:)

I too like ROE but its time for change, With all the new technology the green lazers, little white lights outlining the buildings and faded strobe lights are dated, Time for some leds, and mabee something like the water show in Vegas. Epcot would be a excelent place for fireworks in the round everyday not just special shows as at MK.
Also the inferno barge needs to incorporate the new LCD projectors, the current led monitors were state of the art in its day but so were the jumbo trons at football stadiums.
