Could they not get the China pavilion to build some islands in the lagoon like they are in the S. China Sea?
Could they not put them on top of the Guardians building?
I don't remember the black, hulking, iron monsters in the concept art for this. I remember sweeping walkways and big fountains, but not this.
Well I hope they are capable of running the water fountains on them all the day to lay down a concealing mist.
It looks like they are starting off shore drilling in the lagoon.

Hey... they arent done with them yet. I hear they are going to paint some SW scenes on the blank sides to dress them up. Thats going to make all the difference. We all know SW rules the parks now dont we???

Can't say for sure until I see them in person, but the barges look so huge in photos that the fountains may actually look ridiculous because of the overall scale. Still better than just looking at the plain barge, but that amount of water shooting that high in the air is going to be distracting and probably very loud.

Did Imagineering just get the point where they don't even bother to hide things in a coat of paint anymore? Has it gotten that bad? Even the Big Blue Box sorta disappears on a sunny day. Have they just given up entirely?!

Perhaps the one consolation is that they are not permanently damaging anything. There’s always the chance that sometime in the future, someone will be in charge who will get rid of the monstrosities and restore the view. Kind of like when the hat was removed from DHS.

The sense of unity I felt seeing all of the countries side by side around the lagoon for the very first time was powerful. It's sad that when I have kids, they won't have that same experience.
They would have been better caring about show.

These barges would make a great show for the 7 seas lagoon, they have double sided visual and fountains all they would need is audio and to be able to generate themselves if they can’t already. Make a nice show that can stop at wash resort and the Magic Kimgdom

Still wonder if this was a afterthought and or unexpected issue. A WS daytime fountain was not in the original announcement for the Epcot overhaul. Either way it’s unfortunate, but after the money spent on these barges they sure are not going to change directions.
Unexpected ugly as sin black masses that stick out like a sore thumb and block sight lines?
Fountains are a poor band aid to try in vain to fix a problem of their own creation.

I've thought that as well.
I think we all should reserve judgment until we see and hear the fountains, but count me skeptical too.
