The last quarterly report showed spending of individual guests has gone up. As it has quarter after quarter.
Disney is 100% ok with guests opting to get APs for Sea World and Universal, as long as it leaves behind a lessened crowd that's willing to spend a whole lot more. It keeps profits climbing and deals with overcrowding.
Disney isn't weeping over people switching their APs to other parks.
They *do* however, worry about *branding.* So, bringing this back on topic, Disney doesn't want a nighttime spectacular to fade in popularity, because:

- It hurts the brand. And Disney squeezes money out of people due to the weight of the brand.
- And a nighttime spectacular fading in popularity hurts the profits of all those EPCOT restaurants, and so, their owners will be complaining loudly.
- And an EPCOT nighttime spectacular is supposed to keep MK's nighttime spectacular from being overcrowded.
