Slight divergence here but I keep hearing this argument that for awhile Universal did nothing but screen simulators and it's really nagging at me. Lets take a look here.

Universal Studios Florida opened in 1990, out of the 5 non-live show attractions only 1 was a simulator, The Funtastic World of Hannah Barbara. The other 4 were extremely complex and amazing AA/Effects rides of Kongfrontation, E.T., Earthquake, and JAWS.
1991 Back to the Future opens and is a huge hit as the second simulator ride. During the past year all 4 AA/effects rides had been going through extreme growing pains, with JAWS flat out having to be closed and many elements taken back to the drawing broad.
The next simulator attraction to open was not until 2003 with Jimmy Neutron replacing Hannah Barbara. By this time Universal had reopened JAWS, opened Men In Black, opened/renovated multiple shows like Terminator and Twister and built Islands of Adventure next door without a single simulator attraction.
Fast Forward to 2008 when Simpsons replaces Back to the Future (R.I.P.) This still means the total amount of simulator rides in Universal Orland is 2.
The year of our destruction 2012 rolls around and Despicable Me opens, replacing Jimmy Neutron. Please remember that during time between Jimmy's opening and closing that Universal opened Revenge of the Mummy, Rip Ride Rocket, High in the Sky Trolley Ride, and renovates and opens Harry Potter in IoA.
In 2015 Race For Your Life opens, becoming the 3rd simulator in the Universal Florida resort.

And that's where we are at, 3 screen based simulator rides out of the entire resort. Every other ride has vehicle motion and effects/AA's that make it not a screen based simulator. Kind of puts them equal to Disney with Soarin, Star Tours, and Smugglers Run, although you can make the argument that Smugglers Run is more advance with the whole turntable system.

I think you're conflating simulator and screen-based rides. Some screen rides are simulators, but not all rides featuring screens are simulators. The gripe against USH is that instead of building out animatronics or full show scenes, they just have screens instead for the majority of the ride. It's a much cheaper/easier way to do things. There's a lot more examples of this than what you listed (Fast and the Furious, Gringott's, Kong, etc).

After trying to make out as much of the music from last night as possible, its sounds very, slow. Nothing upbeat and fun. Hopefully I’m wrong.

I would have sworn I heard the Boardwalk background loop on Steve’s video but I’ll admit I’m not sure.

As the post from @CastAStone would suggest, take all the audio you hear with a grain of salt. My understanding is that Disney is actually a step ahead of bloggers for once and has been using audio from other shows/areas. I believe parts of Wishes could be heard some nights.

the 8 barges in forever and the WWIII barges came out. The concept art shows definitely the former, possibly the latter.
Didn't think of that. They could bring back the Pearl Harbor movie sets from MGMs Backstage Tour and have a mock battle scene on WSL. Maybe use the dragon and XWing drones for some special effects. It would be "Magical".

The person I was quoting specifically said screen bases simulators, not moving rides. And while unFast and unFurious is pretty awful, the rest of them all have more going on with them than just sitting infront of a screen

Got to thinking how things went about 5 or 6 years ago with the RoL fiasco and how high the expectations were, the disappointing delay which brought us Jungle Book Alive With Magic and what ultimately we ended up with for Rivers of Light.

I hope Harmonious does not suffer the same high expectation disappointment. Well lol it already has during the day

Just a remembrance:

I’ll add I love the music they used in that video lol.

Like Disney did with Rivers of Light and HEA I hope we get a Recording Sessions video. I would assume they recorded the Harmonious soundtrack pre covid?

EPCOT passed away at approximately 9:15 PM on September 30, 2019 after nearly a 20 year battle with variety of illnesses.
I was at the burial...a rather lengthy affair, if you ask me.

I can definitely hear:
How Far I'll Go from Moana
Go to Distance
Arabian Nights
some Chinese music
Reflection from Mulan.

Can Reflections be Christina Aguileras version? Lol. Might not be everyone’s favorite version but I love how powerful and big it is. That kind of tone is what I hope for most in Harmonious.
