Agreed. When in WS the construction is way out of mind, other than the walls blocking off Ratatouille, and Mechagodzilla rising from the lagoon to kill us all.

Hmmmmm. This could be evolving into a new set for the next Star Wars movie. An interplanetary death ray hidden in the midst of WDW just waiting for a raiding party from the rebellious federation to come and destroy it before it can be activated. Got to admit that would make for a spectacular show (pyro, lights, lazers etc.) specially for SW fans. In reality it won't be so imaginative but there is always hope.
That was SWAGS on a good night.

ohhhh, now I get it.... They're trying to blend them in with the water FROM ABOVE. I would've had tried to blend with stuff on the shore. But, hey, that's just me.

Ok, this is looking more and more like a tire fire with every passing day.
Weather has already taken a toll on the barges - Who would have guessed?!?! And it’s not even been during the heat of a Florida summer, so imagine the affect that will have on them.
If only some people could have warned them about such things...

If they paint the entire bottom half black, that might help with rust, etc from looking so noticeable.

Looks like it was just a quick primer coat put on the barge itself. Could they have planned all along on final painting once on site and tested? The upper part of the barges looks fine and is not showing the same weathering.
You ever seen rust on faded black paint?
