Reflections of Earth Changes

Yeah...wow!! So I haven't been to Disney since Nov 2010. I have seen some complaints about this recently so sorry that this relates to an old blog subject. The only "issue" that I have ever had with it was when my monorail was struck by lightening. That was memorable!!!! Hopefully the problems will get fixed and for splash mountain as well.

Next trip= 2 year wedding anniversary=Nov 2012

Good to hear about the changes, and I'm actually more excited about hearing the tiki torches working in Adventureland.

Oh noes!!!!1111!1!eleven!! A "doom and gloomer" just approved of something done at WDW?!?!?!? But, but, but... That doesn't fit into the stereotype you've painted for all of them with your extremely large brush!! Mass hysteria! Dogs and cats living together!! AHHHHHHH!!!!

I feel like I should validate you. Here...

SPLASH. PIRATES. FOUNTAINS. SHUTTERED BUILDINGS WITH NO REPLACEMENT. MONORAILS. YETI.

There ya go.
Sir Burried20K I applaud your sarcasm and Ghostbuster quote but mostly the sentiment of this post. When something is done to improve the parks it should be duely noted and applauded, and conversely with things that are falling apart in disrepair.

I approve of your post because you called me Sir.

Wait a tic...

I just realized the fixed tikis refered to earlier were NOT the tiki TORCHES, but the leaki tikis. :fork::fork::fork: VERY VERY different. I was envisioning burning torches once again beckoning people to the tiki room... Not water spitting poles.

I hereby retract my earlier compliment.

Do you get invited to many parties?

Love all the changes/updates to timing from the video - escpecially during Celebration, but will withhold judgement to the 1000 points of light/we go on until I see in person.

He didn't point a finger at you. Fact is there are some posters who have a negative view. Nobody implied it was you yet you seem to have taken that post personally. At least enough for a sarcastic and kinda rude response.

I've been firmly labeled as part of the group that bashes WDW. Obviously his comment wasn't directed at me specifically, as I hadn't posted in the thread before that... I felt compelled to reply because (as we're discussing in the SM thread) I take issue with the stereotype he was pushing.

I also didn't think my post was any more or less judgmental and accusing than his post.

Mine was just funnier. :D

Glad they made upgrades and sounds like Disney is showing some love. I haven't seen illuminations since 2005 or 2004 I believe. I kinda wish they'd bring in a new show. Same thing with wishes, maybe someday.

They were testing (and filming) the new effects about a month ago as I reported back then. It looks much cleaner and in sync now.

Wait a minute, first the tikis in Adventureland are fixed. Then Frontierland is getting completely repaved. Now this?!

They aren't done with the Tiki's quite yet. Look for an additional interactive Tiki in the near future. :animwink:

It's really neat to see both older and newer product being used in the same sequence. It provides a comparison without having to go back over to old videos. Seems like the change over is almost complete with new comets and mines added to Adventure.

Maybe this is why Epcot was doing Illuminations each night of marathon weekend at quarter to one in the morning. Woke me up every night, and I watched it from my balcony--it was terrific.

But I like the other changes. (Any news on how those ALF timing chips are coming?)
