RCID Board of Supervisors Meeting

Just wondering, why do attorneys hate it?It's an actual legal concept that is acceptable and is in the bar exam.
Most attorneys HATE it.
Except that he was actually a Disney fan until he tried to score political points against them.I think it’s much simpler than that, Disney dared defy an egomaniac, and his ego won’t allow him to let it go.
Until they defied him I dont think he gave Disney or their social politics a second thought.
They don't. Its not a concept that's used often, because there are other ways to accomplish the same thing without being, as the Brits would say 'cheeky' and tying in the Royal Lives Clause. But saying that 'most attorneys hate it' is not correct. Its not something that they would see often enough to hate.Just wondering, why do attorneys hate it?
'Everyone' shouldn't.The name is not going to stick. Everyone is still going to call it the Reedy Creek Improvement District.
You are right, of course.'Everyone' shouldn't.
RCID was what Disney did when they had the District.
CFTOD is the mess that DeSantis' cronies are going to try to make.
Differentiate the two.
Tourism Undermining Regression District might be a more fitting and accurate name. You are right, of course.
“Central Florida Tourism Oversight District” is an awful name, but perhaps fitting for an even more awful governing board.
The Disney lawyers work out of the office building across the street from Disney Springs. It is just a few minutes walk to Hotel Plaza Blvd. Good exercise to get the heart pumping.100% chance someone from Disney Legal will be there. I wouldn’t be surprised if John McGowan, Chief Counsel for WDW, is there. He’s the one that signed the contracts on Disney’s behalf.
You are right, of course.

just for speculation, if/when this goes to court & let’s say part of the results is the committee gets disbanded…can we rename it cftodgt*o?Tourism Undermining Regression District might be a more fitting and accurate name.
Coming soon to WDW, their newest DVC property:I think we are all missing the point of how cool a coaster would be going in and around a prison.
( this is sarcasm and not meant to be a endorsement..before people start hammering me over the head)
Does anyone know where that map showing what property the district owns went?
This is showing the districts boundaries. I’m referring to the map that specifically showed which property was owned by the district.
It will always be Disney/MGM Studios Improvement District to meYou are right, of course.

In the area of estates and trusts it actually really does make perfect sense.I was one of the only people in my property class who thought the Rule Against Perpetuities made perfect sense.
Hardly anyone refers to Disney Springs, formerly Downtown Disney the old infamous haunting ground of the drunk and restless - adults only in the evening,- Pleasure Island. It will always be Disney/MGM Studios Improvement District to me
This is my hope too. The only two things that give me pause are the talk of messing with ride safety inspections and the speculation about forcing Disney to allow concealed carry of guns in the parks (I know this was only speculation here and not from an official source). If either of those things happen it would directly impact safety in the parks and I’d be unlikely to want to return. Outside of those two unlikely scenarios I tend to agree that it probably won’t impact guest experience much.I wouldn’t worry about it, despite all the grandstanding I suspect very little will change in the parks regardless of who “wins” this feud, the parks are already neutral so there’s nothing to change.
DeSantis has made some wild claims about Disney pushing an agenda but those claims don’t represent reality, I can’t think of anything that would fall under an “agenda” in the parks, maybe gay days but since those are not sanctioned events Disney couldn’t stop them even if they tried. (Which they won’t).
Even in the worst case scenario where they make life difficult for the parks to try to force changes in movies, shows, etc that likely won’t result in anything noticeable, it’ll be behind the scenes things that create procedural headaches for Disney but likely wont be noticeable to us guests “on stage”.
