Which "opponents"?
In this instance, the DE&I executives at Disney who have Chapek's cajones locked in a dungeon beneath Cinderella Castle.

I ask this sincerely... do you think the progressive Left is a good representation of enlightenment ideals? I'm a libertarian-bordering-on-anarchist and for my money there is no greater enemy to free speech in this country than the woke movement.

Freedom of speech does not remove freedom of consequence.

Except for very specific circumstances outlined in SCOTUS rulings, freedom of speech means NO punishment or retribution from government. That's what we are talking about. The actions of government to punish a corporate entity for its speech. By revoking something granted to it by that very same government.

Which is yet another reason I am doubtful this legislation will survive court challenges. Given that DeSantis is on record publicly saying that this is in response to Disney going "woke," I doubt it will pass first amendment scrutiny.

Uhhhh No. At Disney properties guests spend many cent's beyond the price of admission. Yes, many cent's.
You said they do. But they don't actually have to. They can stay off property, bring in their own food and water, and not buy merchandise.

At Vegas, the sole reason for its existence is to drain every cent from your pocket - and they are better at it than WDW, able to generate more money while attracting fewer people.

At the end of the day we’re talking money. And Vegas isn’t about gambling losses. Hasn’t been for a very, very long time. Have you ever tried to rent a cabana at a pool party or spend an evening at Tao?
Nope.
I don't gamble.

I don't, actually. He makes me laugh in an entertainment sense. I don't like his opponents and I enjoy watching them get dragged across the coals, so that part is fun too. But I don't share his politics or his approach to politics.

For any successful public speaker or politician there's always this key thing they observe: Know your audience

The Disney Co. is fast becoming more efficient at separating guests from their money with the handicap of not having gambling yet still drain every cent they can from people's pockets.

You really should be working for Disney marketing. Think of the t-shirt opportunities!
Been there, done that - not going back.

(although I do apply here and there to test and see if my rehire's been cleared, which I believe it has as of my last attempt)
