I’ve driven right through Manhattan and out through the Holland Tunnel in the middle of the day/early afternoon, as well as DC a few times. I’d much rather drive through Manhattan than deal with the traffic around here on a regular basis. I HATE driving in DC, and yes I’ve sat in traffic in LA. Orlando traffic still sucks.

I can attest to the fact that Western Way at rush hour is crazy. There are untold new homes and apartments built along Avalon Road and 429 now. Plus the fact that this is where all the College Program participants live now. Also, once you get beyond Flamingo Crossings, these are all areas that were rural five years ago and still have rural 2-lane roads that were never meant to handle this volume of traffic.

Also, I have a similar experience. Driving in Chicago is something I am very familiar with and still do on occasion, and that is somehow less stressful than driving in Orlando. Orlando traffic has really completely exploded in the last decade and the volume of tourists post-Covid has also exploded. Orlando also has a terrible road system where only a handful of roads go anywhere, so tons of traffic ends up funneled through only a few routes. Driving in Orlando is awful these days.

Ha, that makes like no sense. A battery is less of a fire hazard if it's in the hallway vs in the room? This sounds like someone who was thinking 'don't make the room crowded' and made up something. Serious disconnect between safety and someone likely just trying to deal day to day.

First thing came to mind was leaving them out of the room in places like CBR.

Maybe this will be the hill is career in public service* dies on.

*I use this term loosely because I really don't see how he's done anything to actually serve the public since being re-elected.
On the national level that could happen, his hopes in that respect are already slipping and this isn't going to help. However, state level he can stick around for a long time. Why some groups are attracted to his style of "leadership" is beyond me but he is still popular down there so in a few years I wouldn't be surprised to see him running for some other state office.

I like that they’re looking into qualifications given the credentials of the new board. 🙄
He's grasping at straws now, hoping people will think RCID was run by incompetent buffoons for 50+ years. Or he thinks they elected children to the board. Otherwise, what qualifications would be lacking that violated Florida laws? It's a complete waste of taxpayer money and will end up going nowhere - all for a personal vendetta.

Meanwhile, his actions have called his own qualifications (and those of the legislators who voted for his ill-conceived scheme) into question since their comments have proven that they either have a total lack of understanding of what special districts actually are or they are perfectly fine with lying to the public in order to try to justify their willingness to urinate on the 1st Amendment. So is his defense that he's unqualified to hold office or that he's unfit to hold office?

As someone down here, I just wish he'd do his job instead of focusing on personal agendas. 🤷‍♂️

Our state needs a lot of work and people know it but our government doesn't seem to care about any of that these days.

They're too busy going after segments of their own constituents they don't like, trying to create new laws since those people and companies aren't breaking any of the existing ones.

Even if you like him, one has to wonder how long important issues in our state can be ignored while our government engages in a go-nowhere culture war to try holding back the hands of time.
