Ratatouille characters welcome in France?

I can't believe that the French Gov't would be very pleased if WDW decides to put the characters in the country. I can see Belle and some of the other princesses, but I don't thing Rats would go over very well.

What do you think?

Hmm. So long as Disney doesn't decide to create a Ratatouille Character dinner upstairs at the upscale Bistro de Paris, I can't imagine that the "French Gov't" should have too many problems with the idea, should it even be considered.

Particularly since we don't know anything about the movies' characters in any detail, I think it's a little premature to speculate as to the appropriateness or inappropriateness with any movie tie-in to the French pavillion. (Maybe we'll get a better idea after the Three Caballeros are introduced to the Mexican pavillion!)

I don't think the France Pavilion at Epcot is very high on the list of priorities for the government of la belle Republique...

they will appear at MGM first and then will trickle out. all CGI characters and pixar characters all get their start near the animation pavillion. Expcet the Robinsons characters to show up there when the movie opens.

I heard the "Meet the Robinsons" characters were going to start at the end of January. Don't know if that's true or not.

Yeah, I think it is too early to tell whether it will be inappropriate.

It is about a rat who loves French food (and I believe he wants to be a chef, I heard that somewhere) but of course, no one wants to eat in a restauraunt with rats. So what is so offensive? :veryconfu

Ok people they are characters in a movie. Why would the "French Gov't" find offense to it? This is Disney World..It's not like we'd be calling the French Dirty rats...These are characters in a movie that want to be portrayed in Disney, and to bring them to life. Disney likes to set them in a place, (epcot) where it would make the most sense.

The company that can have people lining up to see a Mouse and a bug (Flik) won't have any problem with people having negative associations with a rat.

Poor France though - the two main characters I associate with their pavillion at Epcot other than Belle are the Beast and Quasimodo. I'm thinking some high-class rats might be a welcome addition.

Rats huh?
Fitting I say.
I'll stop there.

Lemme guess...they're rats because they wouldn't assist us in our invasion of Iraq right? An unprovoked war of aggression based on fabricated evidence and flat out lies.

I bet you go through the drive through and order "freedom fries" too, right?
