Our trip countdown just switched to 59 days- just under 2 months to go. Since we decided to go on our trip back in August, I have been planning continually. Problem is, I seem to have run out of things to plan! So I need ideas. Planning for Disney keeps me in such a great mood- so I would appreciate any ideas you can give!

Here's what we've already done:
- booked entire trip: hotel, flights, tickets, etc.
- Day-by-day itinerary for which park to visit & special events that day
- restaurant reservations and plans for all meals
- printed list of menus for restaurants, and snacks for DDP
- printed list of character appearances for photo ops
- created overall budget
- checked typical weather forecasts
- started planning what needs to be packed/bought- will write list soon
- bought new sneakers- started wearing them in and getting on a regular walking regime

What else can I do??? (I've purposely been avoiding videos of the special Christmas shows at WDW cause I want to take them in for the first time when we're there.) Thanks!!

I've got a long way to go (7months) so I've been keeping myself busy by planning Disney dinner and movie theme nights. The kids and I brought the calender out and planned 2 for each month leading up to May. So I've been online looking into ideas for meals and crafts to go along with our dvd selection. Last Saturday we had Beauty and the Beast night and my kids had a blast, next up is Cars but I'm trying to work in a Haunted Mansion night to coincide with Halloween. My dh thinks I'm crazy but at least I'm not bugging him about our trip so he's happy.

You sound just like me! Here are a few things that weren't on your list.
Plan what to wear each day.
Plan where you want to take some pictures. Group and solo spots.
Did you do a touring plan for each day yet? Even if I don't stick to it, that is the most time consuming part of planning. Mine will have park hours, the order I plan to visit attractions, meal and snack info, show times etc. That can take up a lot of time over the next 59 days!

Do you have a pet? It's always a happy day when I book the board for my dog (no - not at Best Friends - I'd like to have spending $$ for the trip!!) Yes, I'll miss him but YAY we're going away!

I also:
print out address labels to use for postcards
buy postcard stamps
get treats for the kids for the plane (coloring or sticker books, etc.)
research in-room celebrations (then create my own for a fraction of the cost!)

How about preparing the envelopes (1 per day) and tips (I usually do $5/day) for Mousekeeping? That takes up about 15 minutes out of your next 59 days LOL

I've been having the same issue. Hopefully your thread will give me some ideas. The last 2 I came up with were picking and planning a tour and staking out where the best snack options for breakfast are.

Are you into scrapbooking? Or do you know what you're going to do with your photos when you get back?

(just because I didn't see it specifically mentioned) Have you checked what's in refurb?

I have a relaxed view to schedules and lists. We have a single spreadsheet with a timetable of which days and which parks. But I also have a number of days where I won't plan anything. It will be a case of wake up and see what we feel like doing. I also have a day or so as a contigency day in case any parades get rained out etc.

The nearer it gets to my trip, the more obssessed I get with these boards - checking for menu alterations, re-furbs, weather forecasts, crowd levels etc etc.

Have a great trip

I just thought of another one. I wear flip-flops the whole time I am there, so I get a Disney design on my toes before I go. Mickey, WDW etc. It puts me even more in the Disney mood! Design something fun for your toes!

LOLOL, this is the sort of "problem" I would express out loud to my husband who would tell me I've lost my mind! :ROFLOL:

The other day my husband announced our trip was 11 weeks away and I couldn't believe he was keeping track (and it was actually 76 days away so he was spot on!!)

Thank you everyone for your ideas- keep them coming- I love them!

Here are some responses:

-Beccone:  LOVE the movie idea! I will have to do that!

-Mickeysshoes: You got that right!

-Mukta: DH & I literally JUST talked about setting up a tour plan- so I will work on that! (And I LOVE the idea of Mickey pedicure! Will have to think about it :animwink:)

-NYwdwfan: My parents will be watching our dog so that's taken care of. No kids- just two "big kids" (aka adults)- but things for the plane is a great idea! I don't normally do postcards (especially since Christmas cards will be sent out only a week later :xmas:)... but I will consider the possibility!!

-ThinkTink721: I just saw your post on here too! :) lol There's something about planning for Disney that's so addicting and AWESOME!

-LisaLyn: Oh! I hadn't even thought of that. In the past I've never tipped mousekeeping- mainly because I didn't realize I was supposed to...:dazzle: And 15 minutes is better than none at all! Thanks for the tip!

-disney dharling: I hope there are lots of good ideas for you too!

-Pooh's buddy: I'm actually not a scrapbooker. But I'm a huge photographer. We have been researching a new camera and hope to purchase soon. I put together a couple albums and post on Facebook... We do plan to buy photopass though!! That's on the to-do list to preorder for the discount! Oh and yes, I've checked refurb- so far the only thing I've heard about for our dates is Star Tours. :sohappy:

- Graham9: We've literally planned each day out, for which parks we'll be in and the restaurants we're eating at- and the special events (parades, shows, etc.) happening each day. Only thing we haven't done yet is figure out a route for touring rides. As you can tell, I'm a planner. But as far as I know, we don't plan to spend anytime back at the resort other than sleeping-- December will be too cold for swimming! (I did schedule in a few days to sleep in though! Isn't that nice of me?)

- disney magic 06: I hear ya- I check the boards constantly. Addictive once again!

-JillC LI: My husband just laughs. Guess that's why I keep him around!:ROFLOL:

Thanks again everyone!! Would love to hear more ideas of things to make these last 2 months go by faster!

Have you ever done pin trading? You can buy a "lot" on ebay for like $1 a pin, and then trade them when you get to the parks. I bought 40 for my kids to share (4 and 8) this year, and it was their favorite part of the trip, and saved me spending $.

Each night when we got to the hotel, we would go to the gift shop so they could check the trading boards. At DTD, they walked by all the merchandise to find cast members they could trade with.

Plan your outfits too:ROFLOL:
