Rain: Do you poncho, rain jacket, or umbrella?

Awesome...where do you find these?

When it comes to Florida's sideways, monsoon-like rain, your best bet in packing light and staying dry is a rain suit like this:

They're cheap, lightweight, don't take up any more room than a poncho, and keep you 100 times dryer. Also, they don't need to be taken off in attractions where CMs ask guests to remove their ponchos.

Almost anywhere, but they vary in style and quality. If on Amazon, just search "rain suit," most are under $20. Or look in the camping/sporting goods section of your local store. Sports Authority carries them with their camping supplies.

The North Face also carries thin, waterproof clothing that serve the same purpose. Not all nylon materials are actually waterproof, even though they might feel like it, so make sure that the labels specify that it is in fact waterproof. If you're in the central Florida area, there's a North Face Outlet store at the Prime Outlets (adjacent to Universal Orlando), where I've found some great items.

I've never understood why anyone would use a poncho or umbrella - neither actually keep you dry. And umbrellas are hard to navigate through congested crowds, and can be forgotten in attractions and shows; not to mention that larger umbrellas won't fit in attraction lockers (if visiting Universal Orlando). These rain suits are just awesome, and a must-have for any frequent theme park guest.

My husband and I purchased WDW rain jackets on our Honeymoon back in 2010. They are stitched with Walt Disney World and the bag is attached to them that they fold back into themselves. They are great to carry around and throw on when an afternoon rain comes through!! And they are special to us since we purchased them on our honeymoon :)

Usually, none. By the time I would find it or get one I'll be soaked anyway. And I just can't seem to be ok with wearing something that looks like a garbage bag, especially when I have to take it off every time I want to go on a ride. I just deal with the wet and go change after the rain is done. That's just me though... and I like rain.

Tried an umbrella one year - the wind that usually accompanies the downpour turned it inside-out in about 30 seconds. We have the yellow Mickey ponchos that we bring, which keep us dry. But it's like wearing an oven in the summertime!! We ended up just holding them over our heads so we wouldn't melt. So now, if it looks like it may rain, I make sure I don't wear white :D we bring baseball hats, and enjoy the cool rain! We've also started going during December - a little drier than August!!
